so being a dmr guy and never using the br cuz it sounds like a cat giving birth to a hippo every time you squeeze the trigger…How about you sorebutt dmr haters give a tip on this thing. I cannot figure it out. reticle goes where exactly. Sometimes its 4 hits, 5 hits etc. I could 5 shot the dmr no prob but this br is just all sorts of not me. Best record so far is 22-33-19. Yeah that’s right kids, 33 assists…awesome game now with this update. I love it. Play some Rumble on Scythe. It’s an spamming assist -Yoink!-. Wow. Nailed it with this one Devs, right outta the park.
Anyway, i can’t figure it out…must be lag or something cuz this br is driving me nuts. mmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeeooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. That is what is sounds like by the way. But real fast like.
Truly Yours
TU Sorebutt BR User
You get into a rhythm with it after a while its like anything it takes practice. Just aim for the body for the first few shots if your having trouble aiming then headshot on the fourth. I use to be a DMR user at first but since I got the feel for the BR there’s no looking back.
such a shame people only use the BR now because it’s got a buff. I’ve been using it since day 1 and wrecked DMR players right and left.
The reason why you could consistently 5shot with the DMR is because of a couple of reasons pre weapon tuning
- The DMR had/has the highest amount of Aim assist/Bullet Magnetism of any of the precision weapons
- It had the longest RRR of all the precision weapons
Rumble pit is always going to rack you up assists, you are probably using it properly and just getting the bad luck of not landing the kill shot before someone else does
just keep a steady aim and maybe practice with a friend in the octagon BR practice map
I think your problem is you’re so used to the DMR. The BR has less bullet magnetism than the DMR, so it’s harder to use. If you use the BR enough, you’ll eventually get used to it.
The BR is different to the DMR, the BR is a burst-fire weapon. You won’t consistently hit all 3 bullets in a burst, so it leads to varying shots-to-kill, but a 100% hit rate will make a perfect 4 shot. It may be 4, 5 even 6 and more depending on your accuracy and lag.
The DMR deals either 0% or 100% damage per shot, where the BR can deal either 0%, 33%, 66% or 100% damage per shot.
The BR sound is not as good as it was in Halo 3, but that is just a personal gripe that I have, others may not see it that way.
As for your 33 assists, get used to it. The BR is an assist machine due to the varying bullet registration. In a game of Infinity Slayer, I scored 8-20-10. All my kills were being pinched by team-mates, it annoyed me that I wasn’t able to get many kills, but ultimately my team won, so I don’t really care about it.
I sport the DMR/BR combo.
mid to long mid range, I can take out the BR.
Short mid, I use the BR.
When I run out of bullets on the DMR, I switch to BR and move a little closer…
Basically i’m back to the DMR/BR combo as before. I notice when i use the DMR, i cut the reticle in half. The bottom of the circle lines up with the chin, center of the reticle is at the top of the head and the top of the reticle is above the head.
Where should i be aiming this BR reticle to make it a 4 hitter, it is much larger then the dmr. I’ve tried on the chest only and it’s 5 and the like the DMR halfway on the head, it seems this gun it very random or maybe i’m losing out to lag.
> such a shame people only use the BR now because it’s got a buff. I’ve been using it since day 1 and wrecked DMR players right and left.
Then you weren’t playing very good players. Before the update a skilled player with a DMR would win 3/4 times. Don’t over exageratte your skill just to be a BR fanboy because before the update it was only viable on smaller maps like Haven or Skyline, etc.
> The DMR had/has the highest amount of Aim assist/Bullet Magnetism of any of the precision weapons
…No it doesn’t.
OT: The BR is inherently random. The weapon has a huge amount of spread that when combined with recoil can make it a 5, or even 6 shot at just a medium range. It’s an awful weapon now.
> I think your problem is you’re so used to the DMR. The BR has less bullet magnetism than the DMR, so it’s harder to use. If you use the BR enough, you’ll eventually get used to it.
Not true.
All of the primary weapons have the same aim assist:
Utility Weapons
The difference between the DMR and BR is that, for the BR, when you’re on the hairy edge, your first bullet may land while the other two miss. In the past, that gave you a 6SK instead of 5 (now 5 instead of 4), so you come away thinking you missed a shot due to lower aim assist.
Aim assist is not the culprit. The spread of the 3-round shot is the culprit.
Edit: Sorry for simply repeating what Sitri said . . . his post occurred while mine was still being typed.
The BR is now basically the hitscan version of the H3 BR. It’s (afaik) an 11 bullet kill weapon. It’s harder to use than the DMR, and in my opinion the update nailed it with the weapon balances.
