The title says it all. So where are they? I am not the only player that would play and enjoy the game for much longer with BR starts. Especially with the AR being as strong as it is. Players of significantly less skill push anything with no fear with the AR. They often win regardless of what weapon I am using. It’s a crutch for newer and less skilled players. That is a whole other discussion to be had.
The problem is that every playlist is AR starts. Even when it doesn’t make sense(BTB). “Just go play ranked.” I would love to. I refuse to play ranked when the game is still unstable and crashing results in temp bans and significant deranking. I also don’t always want to sweat. Is it so wrong that I want to relax when I play halo sometimes?
More playlists were added today. This is amazing. Finally I can play just slayer and ffa. What is tactical slayer? It says it’s BR starts. To my dismay, “tactical” slayer is anything but that. “Tactical” slayer is SWAT. So close, yet so far away. So just like last week, once I finish my challenges, I will have no reason to play.
Is there a reason for AR starts? Is there a reason to not have any unranked playlists with BR starts? SWAT doesn’t count. No. There isn’t. SO WHERE ARE THEY?
You have played one match of ranked. Give it another try its not that bad. I have played a fair amount of both ranked and quick play and to be honest don’t see much of a difference. Over time I have enjoyed ranked a lot more as players tend to quit less often and also seems like effort is a little more higher in these games. Not saying I don’t sweat more in these lobbies but have had plenty of enjoyable games in ranked without sweating. Also like it because of the BR start
BTB does not make sense to have BR starts. You would have to many people just aimlessly shooting across map at all times and limit map usage. Also you get a group of studs in a game and they could run the entire map with BRs. Just my opinion.
Edit: Also BRs are pretty easy to come by in BTB. I rarely have trouble getting one when you know where the spawns are. Most the time people don’t even pick them up. When they do they spawn back fairly quickly.
I have played one game of ranked, on Infinite. H5 onyx ts, arena, and ffa etc. I play on pc. I often hard crash for no discernable reason. I am playing on a 5950x and a 6900xt with 32gb of 3600mhz cl 16. It is not my pc. the game is still not optimized or stable enough. It would be unfair to me and my teammates, random players or my friends, to derank because my game crashes through no fault of my own.
BTB has always been BR starts. It also feels weird to not be able to challenge people at range on the much larger maps. Obviously I know where the weapon spawns are.
I agree completely, we need a unranked playlist (not swat) with a BR start. AR in this game is so overwhelmingly overpowered and has too much range. 90% of battles mid to close range in a AR to BR fight, AR will win.
I am not asking for them to remove AR starts. They do serve a purpose. I would like an alternative to ranked with BR starts. That’s it. If they want to add more than one playlist with BR starts, by all means. I just want ONE BR start playlist.
I stay away from ranked entirely to avoid invoking the merciless wrath of the eldritch monstrosity “trueskill2” and its omnipotent hold on all playlists.
But I digress. BR starts in more modes would be nice :]
From playing with it a bunch in campaign it appears to be the same gun, just with a shorter scope more akin to Halo 2/3. It might be a good contender for matchmaking.
