BR starts ruin the game.

It makes the game only mid range. There is no long or short game. People are less risky, camp more etc. It really ruins the flow of the game.

I was only able to play one match on regret so I am hoping it’s not the case. My match seemed to be more of everyone rushing around aimlessly.

Granted I am sure no one knew the map layout.

That is what map control is.

And what alot of old Halo is all about.

BR is considered the most versatile of all weapons in Halo. If I had to choose just one, it would be the BR. It is great at all ranges.

I feel more equipped for any type of gunfight with a BR. DMR isn’t so great at short range and AR isn’t great at long range. The pistol lacks range as well.

People may camp more in this game because a lot of the weapons are pretty damn powerful at a multitude of ranges. But wait until MLG runs rampant again on Halo. You will be getting iced with a BR in so many different ways, places, and ranges that you will either need to join us or lose most gunfights.

Translation: complaint = people are using midrange weapons in midrange. People more cautious.

I take it youre not used to br starts in halo.

No it isn’t.

Taking control of certain areas over others and trying to contain the other team in one spot. That is basically what the OP is trying to describe.

Thank you. Im not some halo scrub. Im trying to provide feedback. Br is TOO versatile.

Meh, I love BR starts. Just going to take a little to get used to with H5G.

Mid range is the most common range for firefights to occur in Halo. The BR only feels like it’s dominating because it is built as a mid range precision rifle.

I’m more concerned with AR starts, especially since they are now way too good at killing at mid range. A BR user basically needs flawless aim in order to kill an AR user now. It’s ridiculous that the AR is this good now.

Why start every one with one if the best weapons in the game? It takes away the fun of finding the BRs on the map

I wouldn’t say it ruins the flow of the game, but it certainly changes it.

I’m not a huge fan of BR starts, because it reduces the need to control the other weapons on map, but I do like it as a change of pace.

When starting with a less well rounded weapon, map control means securing the short, mid, and long range weapons, and using them all in a coordinated effort to suppress the enemy.

With the BR, the short game is far less important.

Yes, it is. You aren’t controlling anything if you are running around spraying your AR all over the place.

Which is exactly what has been happening in Halo 5 despite what all the clowns here keep saying about the game requiring “map control”.

It should be a map weapon. Always.

wait. so some of you are saying the AR is too good? Hasn’t everyone been -Yoinking!- since 3 that it wasn’t good enough?

Yepp because two teams staring at each other from across the map with the same weapon wiyh neither team moving sure is a blast.

I mean, loadouts are gone. Isn’t that all we wanted? BR starts are fine on a separate gametype/playlist.

Which is where power weapons come into play. You need to move to the power weapon spawn if and when it spawns to gain that crucial advantage over the other team. Come on man. Halo 101.

I personally thought that only Reach’s AR was garbage. CE and 3’s AR’s were ok. Halo 4’s AR was near perfect. It just baffles me that 343 got the AR pretty much right in Halo 4, and then went and buffed it further anyways.

Plus what he described was two teams with equal map control.
