This gametype is unranked, there is no reason to start with this weapon.
Br starts promotes a lot of tryhards on a casual gametype.
It is not ranked but it makes sense to start with that weapon since the maps are big. Pistol to start with on BTB would be dumb.

Not really, BR can be a pick up weapon, also Corbine can be a substitute for the BR, a more casual replacement.
What weapon would you rather start with?
I kind of agree. Throwing a BR into the hands of every player just turns every BTB game into a snipe fest and kills any motivation to use other weapons. The Magnum is more good enough to be your precision medium-long range weapon.

It does make sense to start with BRs, and I hate BR starts… But BRs is a must for BTB

Carbine is not more casual it takes more shots to kill hence skill to kill.

BRs are a less punishing weapon to use, they have less of a skillgap than the Magnum, so it’s better to start unranked playlists with the BR.
