BR Starts Encourages Weapon Variety

I’m not talking about MCC.

You don’t show up on halo tracker

He just competed in h5 doubt he didn’t play the other games

Use my name without the underscores. Since we can’t have spaces in our name it puts those.

You don’t show up still

The Cool Spoon

I just searched myself and i do come up

What are you talking about? I made it to onyx barely playing. I would have made it way higher but the one guy i play with didn’t want to play with me anymore due to me being onyx. Im not out here claiming to be the best but i would say i am pretty good at Infinite. Arguing from skill only matters if someone doesn’t actually know how to use a weapon, i clearly do and just don’t enjoy it because the BR is too easy to use all the time.

If you want to compare skill in the Ranked Crossplay playlist you have a bit more games played than i do and i still outrank you. In the other i was just goofing off with a friend and given you have played more than 30 times the games i have i could guarantee i would make it to onyx in less time than it took you to get there. So please enough with the “You’re bad” argument, it is overused and most people defending BR starts have worse stats and it doesn’t matter anyways.

Saying you are bad at the game doesn’t change any of the facts i brought up and im quite tired of having to reiterate to people who don’t care about facts. They just want to be coddled by a BR all the time because they don’t like having to think about what guns they have and the situations they could be in. BR is so brain numbing easy to use it just gets old so fast.

I really wish BTB had BR starts

I play solo/duo because cross play solo is awful

And so is the bloody AR, at least with br starts I don’t get picked off across the map unable to fight back

That doesn’t happen often and if it does then try taking cover a bit. With BR starts you have to constantly stay/move near cover because everyone can always hit you but in AR starts you have some breathing room.

Also this is where AR and BR start people differ in design philosophy. I am perfectly willing to let someone be able to fight at a huge disadvantage if someone has a map weapon and i don’t or if i chose the wrong one to try to use in my current situation. I don’t necessarily think you should always have an effective way to fight back at all times because people need to make choices on what weapons they plan on using. They may make bad choices and thus be at a disadvantage.

This design philosophy is very similar to what Battle Royales use. They don’t hold your hand and if you choose wrong you could be fightinging at a huge disadvantage or a big advantage compared to your opponent. Only difference is an Arena shooter like Halo that has a 2 weapon system instead of a weapon wheel removes the randomness and luck involved since you know the weapon spawns.

I can’t think of any other game where people get a weapon that is as useful as the BR in almost every situation and its not considered OP. I like it when guns fill a roll and there is no utility weapon that spans multiple rolls. I can’t say the BR is a bad gun, I would say its still a bit too strong in Infinite and i like that the AR intrinsically limits people’s ability to always be able to fight back, including my own, because it makes people have to think more about positioning and the opponents weapons. I am willing to fight at a disadvantage if i don’t choose my engagements properly.

I have said many times I know exactly why people like BR starts. You just gave the main reason. I don’t think we should take them away. Give people like you the starts they want but don’t kill AR starts to do so.
