That’s my take too. I really only play ranked and btb. The former because I really like fast paced BR starts compared to the slower, more plodding AR starts matches.
As far as BTB goes I just love blowing vehicles to hell, and playing more large scale matches.
Maybe you should look again. You have a plat 4 and a 43% win/loss in ranked you also went very negative your last few matches in it. I currently have a D5 and a 52% win rate.
I’m not even good and I make your stats look like a joke in comparison. Just take the L back to social where you’re more comfortable
The BR is a wonderful weapon that allows everyone the opportunity to compete. This is why the weapon itself is so successfully over the Halo franchises since Halo 2.
I like an MCC style hopper so people can play how they want. If that was the case I would never play an AR start game again in my life. If you are platinum skill level or above, when there is a skill disparity there’s an easy snowball. If it’s equal skill then once there is an established precision vs automatic gap, which will eventually get established by the team that wins the initial fight, it really closes out the window of opportunity for the team without precision weapons to return to neutral footing let alone win.
Casual isn’t sweaty but there is still an incentive to win, it’s just there’s nothing on the line or something that requires your full effort or concentration, that doesn’t mean you spin around like a thumbless loon, you’re just less serious. AR starts just aren’t fun if you enjoy shooter games and the idea of accuracy, skill and control. If Halo did make an AR with range, a headshot bonus and some accuracy (AKA the Gears lancer) then i’d be fully on board with that, but that’s not what AR people want out of an automatic weapon. They want no range and little skill OR to abuse the snowball and pubstomp others.
People should get to play that if they wish but it would be wonderful to filter it out. I’d love to play precision BTB only.
Considering that the E-sports streams had so few viewers threads were popping up mocking the fact, E-sports sweats are demonstrably a minority. Most people just want to have a bit of fun instead of every match being a sweat-fest. This is why we’re now seeing a pull back from the design philosophy of Halo 5 where everything was catered towards the sweats and streamers. If you push out all of the casual players all you’re left with is a small handful of people that will then proceed to push each other out since there’s no more casuals to beat serve as their punching bags.
For a franchise as large as Halo that number is miniscule. I’d be curious to see how many would still tune in and actually watch it when there are no stream rewards for tuning in and then leaving the stream running while you’re AFK doing other things.
I now I logged in and left it running when I left for work to get drops a few times despite having absolutely zero interest in their ego stroking. If I was doing it I can only imagine how many others “watched” it like how I did.
The same problem in every Halo game is that the Human Armory is always OP and more useful then anything else. If the Halo games where more base off the lore and Sci-Fi Universe that people would come to aspect from a game like Halo the these stupid arguments wouldn’t even be a thing.
I never said the AR was terrible and that I wouldn’t want AR starts.
I think AR starts could be great as I think BR starts are great.
What deters my friends and I from picking up any other weapon besides a sniper or sword with our AR is the fact the sidekick is to good mid to long range. Also depending on how fast you have a clicking or trigger finger makes it shred even more.
The problem isn’t the primary weapons, I agree the AR is the best it has every been. Not to OP and not sh*t, remove the secondary would encourage more weapon combo variations.
Also another fix to end this debate is when you take damage the zoom in cancel, that should be an option in settings. I think it should be based on a persons preference.
Exactly why the convent weapons destroyed shields in a fraction of the time and the human weapons can finish the job.
I will always be a fan of the Noob Combo (Charged plasma pistol into a Battle Rifle headshot) because it’s such a overpowering combo. Not allowing your opponent even the small opportunity to react is such a great feeling.
I could get behind getting rid of the sidekick as a spawn weapon because it is very strong. I do love using it though and still find myself dropping it often.
But what you said is the problem to begin with. A few shots from a Plasma Pistol would take out a Spartan or a least melt away the Armor. You shouldn’t even need a human weapon to finish the job. Like from what I understand is that the Covenant are a 1,000 years ahead of the UNSC and the Forerunners are over 100,000 years for both of them. But for some stupid reason the UNSC Armory is stronger than both of them and more useful. That literally makes no sense at all. That’s like taking a Japanese WW2 sword and putting up against a lightsaber from Star Wars and having the Japanese sword win all the time. Just thinking about that sounds stupid. But unfortunately that’s the logic in every Halo game which is why these pointless agreements constantly pop up because the lack of all weapons being powerful and useful.
