H5 BR sucks compared to past Halo’s.
In all other games, a BR can blow a AR user out of the water, now it’s dedicated to mid range and is terrible close range.

I agree that BRs in general are much better than ARs in a skill sense and that halo is more known for the 1v1 BR battles than anything.
The problem with H5 though is that newly implemented movement is negated with BR starts. Is that a bad thing? Depends on the person. I feel like weapons are much more balanced than any other halo game and each weapon is a viable option.
Both AR and BR starts offer different styles of play. BR is much more competitive and more about team shotting and map control but negate movement as you hold certain areas of the map. AR starts is much more run and gun. If you try to hold an area like you would with BR starts you will get mowed down.
In my opinion, H5 is built for AR starts. Movement, maps, and the amount of weapons laying around the maps allow for the run and gun gameplay (unless you have a good team however).

Op your a moron you talk right out of your -Yoink-… I was around when halo 2 came out and it was famous because halo 1 was so great… BR starts didn’t become a thing until MGL became a thing. Don’t believe me? Look up halo2 matchmaking from back in the day. You’ll notice most of the videos are of SMG starts.
I was the guy standing in a big -Yoink- line waiting for 3 hours to pick up my halo 2, so don’t -Yoinking!- say that halo became famous because of BR starts. It just makes you sound dumb.
Being able to match make with random people and friends, talk trash to others and make friends online was why halo 2 was so great and became famous.

I’ll take any precision weapon like br/dmr/light rifle over smg/ar starts. That doesn’t seem so single minded to me.

Ok than why don’t you just pick it up like the game was meant to be? Its 3 feet in front of you when you start the game. Ya you seem kinda single minded to me too.
Oh and if you can’t pick up that BR pick up the other one that is 10 feet away. OH Wait some one else picked that one up, than get the one in the middle of the map!?
Or maybe your just to lazy to pick them up? See your single minded and just wanna have one type of weapon… See I love the BR and DMR too but I like to fight for it or earn it on the map, like other great halo games did before its time.

The previous Halos had shoddy weapon balance that overly favored the BR over other weapons and made it far too forgiving and easy to use. It all started in Halo 2, baby’s first Halo with training wheels (crazy amounts of bullet magnetism noobing it up) then became more balanced, almost perfect in Halo 3 (but other guns were still poorly balanced). I can’t say what it was like in H4 because I haven’t played the post-weapon tuning version.
And if you’re ever spraying and praying with an AR, you are a grade A moron. How the term “Pray and spray” and the Assault Rifle came to be synonymous I’ll never know because that never works for it…for the SMG sure yeah that works but I’ve never understood it’s application towards the AR.

When I spawn twenty feet away from/in sight of an enemy, I don’t exactly have time to run to a precision weapon. If that didn’t happen so frequently, I’d be ok with ar starts.

Really because there are BR’s and DMR all around the map? Hmm I think your logic is flawed maybe you should just spend a little bit of time remembering weapon spawns. Than you would see that there is already a nice gun very very close by. Or maybe your just one of those aggressive monkey’s that runs straight into a line of BR fire and can’t figure out why your dying with out your own BR to counter this problem? Are you hitting your hand against your chest right now as I type this? Its called a surprise attack, its not that hard to counter a BR guy walking around a corner. And ya they will be walking around the map because they don’t have infinite bullets But with BR spawns they kinda do, some one dies they have BR ammo if they die they have br ammo.
Also if your claiming that players are spawning right next to you or your spawning right next to other players all the time than your just a liar lol. It doesn’t happen, you have plenty of time to look around and pick something up.
