DMR finishes head shots easier/ seems much farther ranged.
BR is just B to the A. I seem to do well mid range with it.
Situational choice or are you a permanent BR/DMR fan?

permanent DMR, but thats just my play style. if i grab a BR on the field ill still use it.
All I use is BR.
DMR is easy mode, plus I’ve always hated the way it looks.
I prefer the BR despite all the DMR love. I just don’t dig single fire weapons I guess.
BR user mainly. long range maps i use LR. carbine i use off and on. I generally avoid the DMR. sick of it from reach.
I like the BR alot mostly because I missed it. I switch between the two and I only like the DMR when the maps are long ranged or if I feel its laggy. The BR however does a really nice job, in fact I didn’t even know the DMR was “OP” until I came on here.
if you wanna spam mindlessly and be in ez mode use the dmr if you want to actually show your skill and look cool doing it use the br :o
Mostly BR for me.
Must say that they’re pretty even in most fights. The only two similar weapons that really are not a certain win for either one of them.
I use both. BR for close/mid-range, DMR for long range. The DMR certainly doesn’t “feel” more OP than the BR, other than dominating it long-range.

weapons are only OP when 5 year olds come to forums and cry to devs about it. unless it fires homing nuclear bullets that turns your XBOX off and gives you a stroke IRL, its not OP.
meh i guess you dont know what game balance mean do you even know what are the kill time for both guns? dmr outclass the br by almost 1 sec and it take considerable aiming to put all the shot to hit a erfect 5 shot compared to single shot dmr that hit at all range…you have no idea what you are taling about the dmr is op based on fact and now people start to realize it based on eperience you are just to blind to see it noob
I don’t really think its OP…I think its just people trying to BR people across the map at a guy with a DMR and paying for it.
The only things I’ll ever admit to being OP is the MP40 from WAW and the Predator in AVP 3. Everything else I’ve ever heard about being OP in other games was malarkey.

Be nice now children. I do feel that the BR takes more skill to finish a headshot when you have someone at one shot. I did prepare the “Reach method” for H4LO so that might be why the DMR feels “easier”. But i definitely prefer the BR over the DMR. Even if i do better with the DMR sometimes.
nah i have a general KD of 1.7 and above and more than 2.3 ith the DMR…dont worry I know how to play the game I used to play in mlgs in h2 and h3 
dont judge people skill based on oppinion(facts for that matter). I feel that you have the bad kid here considering that you hugely defend your preious ez mmode gun that if you lose will go below 1.0 KD…stay bad kid 
I think the fact is both guns have a time and place for their use. I do however believe the BR should be the only human rifle and don’t understand why the DMR made it’s way into H4. As for the DMR being OP I didn’t even notice, I thought that it was the same as in Reach.
hitman, i didnt notice until announcers at MLG DALLAS said they noticed a lot of games where every pro in the match would use dmr. Thats when i realized how its very easy to use. (of course this could very well be the familiarity of the gun with halo 4 not being released before the MLG event)
The DMR is a better weapon, PERIOD. Thats all i use. It has no bullet spread, and I’ll take it for short range engagements as well.

I’m fairly sure 343 have come out to say that BR better at long Range DMR better at Mid range and for clearing corridors/rooms, look at their post about the new swat playlist. I’ve been using the Light Rifle and owning with it the last two days. I think you should give it a go.
