BR/Melee inconsistent?

I think everyone agrees melee seems weird, sometimes you can melee from a mile away, other times you can’t melee from a foot away.

At first I thought maybe my BR was just off, then I thought that maybe the shield down effect is visually lagging and the guy I’m shooting isn’t actually one shot, but it happens in my favor too…where I eat bullets like I have 10 overshields.

What is causing this inconsistency? It’s not aim, because they could shoot me in the toe as many times as they do, and it should be a kill (and vice versa). Some games the bullet sponge is unbelievable, other games it feels perfect.

Ultimately, I am compensating for bullet sponge by adjusting my movements and basically saying ‘forget that’ to any fair fight. If someone starts a fight with me, ill shoot once or twice, then completely reposition, sometimes running half way across map, just to get the leg up on the other guy.

TL;DR - BR is really inconsistent, and while sometimes it works in my favor, it’s still not something I’d consider ‘well done’.

It’s desync and hit reg issues. Lack of quality player collision, low tick rate and server issues. I play with 50-60ms. which is more than fine, but I get on infinite… feels like I am playing with 150+ms.

It’s most notable when using the sidekick out of all the non power weapon items.
