Look I get it. The battle rifle is for some reason the staple of Halo gaming. I just wish it wasn’t forced down on everyone all the time. Big team battle is full of nothing but BR’s not to say I’m not good with it but it gets boring when it’s still the only weapon that for some reason seems beat any other especially when they’re made to be your secondary weapon. I’m just asking for a little variety. Is that too much?

even presented with a vast majority of weapons people will ALWAYS flock to the easiest ones, this isn’t battlefield. (even there is a flocking to easy weapons but you will see variety)
I’m sorry that you’re not very good with the BR. Firstly, I’d like to say that you can outgun the BR with a variety of weapons, from basic weapons to power weapons. The BR is great at mid-long range but awful in tight, enclosed spaces against an enemy player carrying an SMG, AR or Shotgun. Every weapon in the game has a situation that it excels at and its own weaknesses. Learn to exploit those strengths and weaknesses.

I’d like to see covenant weapon starts on some maps, or just bring back the needle rifle in full and place it round maps. More carbine would be good too 
The BR is ridiculously easy to use in this game.
The magnum is easily my favourite, takes more skill and getting that perfect medal makes me so happy.

In a recent video, what seems to be the Needle Rifle made an appearance. Hopefully that tease means it’s coming back in the January update. Here’s a short version of the stream. It seems to be more of a Carbine that shoots needles rather than the original Reach era Needle Rifle.

There is literally 1 playlist with BR starts and you are still complaining about too much BRs?
Halo never was and never should be a game with a big utillity weapon variety.

Like I said I’m not bad at all with the BR I just feel like it’s one of few weapons people always go for. I’ve outgunned AR’s with BR’s at close range and vice versa it all depends on a persons strafe and aim. SMG is nearly useless always getting outgunned by AR even at close ranges.
I prefer the carbine to the BR. I feels like I can land more shots and do more damage per shot than with the BR.

I hear you, everywhere I turn the BR is a constant presence. The DMR is my favourite but it gets no love in Halo 5.
Warzone soundtrack = Bar-rak-ak, bar-rak-ak, Bar-rak-ak! DMR doesn’t unlock until like REQ7 while Longshot BR is REQ3.
So the only game type that has a BR start you want to take out.
No thank You, there needs to be at least one game type with a BR start. I actually wish there were more BR starts in more game types.
That is exactly why I don’t enjoy Halo 2/3 as much as the other ones; the BR is literally the only “competitive” option besides the Sniper Rifle. Halo has such a large sandbox of weapons, and yet only a handful are ever used with consistency in MM.
SWAT is also either BR’s or the Magnum which I don’t mind but would it be bad to have a variety of SWAT playlists? Why not Carbines, DMR’s, Lightrifles etc.
The DMR is hard to get. I’m past level 60 and have yet to get one. So what other mid to long range weapon is there for a load out? Would you rather be killed with a pistol from that range?
So what I’m trying to say is, do yourself and the community a favor and stop complaining about something that isn’t a problem…

Go play arena and use that pistol then.
What do you want done then? If we start with AR/Magnum in BTB then the people that pick up a BR or DMR will have a huge advantage. Making the Magnum stronger, so it can easily counter the BR, is going to create the same issue that you have, just with the Magnum instead of the BR. Removing the BR entirely is an option, but the impact that that would have on the sandbox is massive. Another option is increasing the kill times across the board, allowing people to come back from being shot first. That way the better player would win encounters instead of being shot at from across the map with a BR and dying cheaply.
People use it because it suits Halo perfectly. Halo 5 is actually the best game in a while when it comes to balancing the precision weapons. the automatics destroy in close range, like they are supposed to.
