Start watching the video at 5:41 and you see the guy getting shot is by a BR, 4 times in the head and the guy behind him is reloading so he couldnt have shot any. And if you look at the shields, they go away just like they do in Halo 2.
Nothing is final yet, the E3 build we saw from MLG was a 5SK still.
One can only hope 4sk returns…

Hitscan is old news my friend, has been known for some time.
- 343i confirmed it to be a 5-shot at the time
- I’ve always seen 5-shots done by the pros, never an unassisted 4-shot
- The guy in the vid got teamshot.
So unfortunately, no. Though a 4-shot BR would be perfect, as I imagine the carbine and DMR from the demo overpowering it, based on what i’ve seen.
Pretty sure a 4-shot BR would be OP. People seem to contradict themselves on these forums. They ask for all of the weapons to be balanced, yet they ask for a 4SK BR that would make the BR the only weapon anyone uses. Thus, ruining the balance of the sandbox.
Make up your minds. Do you want to use just the BR and occasional DMR/Carbine, or would you rather be able to use all the weapons?
By the way, if you look closely, you can see two red arrows when he takes damage, which means he’s being shot by multiple people. I can see how you thought what you thought, though.
Shield drained on the third shot is way more than 1st and 2nd. the third shield drain should be a team shot.

Pretty sure you never played Halo2 then.
And Halo2 didn’t have all the gimmicks in the game slowing it down. And the Halo2 BR didn’t really have a spread when it got patched. And no recoil. Basically, it was perfect and the Halo4 is still nerfed in comparison even with a 4 shot kill.
Although a 4sk BR would be amazing, the player that got killed was also shot in the back before dropping.

Yeah, I played Halo 2. You mean that game where everyone uses BR? Maybe because it was 4SK? Possibly.
Only weapons besides BR that were useful were Plasma Pistol and sometimes SMG (excluding power weapons, of course).

The BR is under-powered as it is. If it was made a 4sk and the time between slowed just by a tiny bit, It would likely please both sides of the argument. The BR has a pretty limited range as well, so all weapons will have their purposes.

Please inform yourself before making post like this. First post of this Halo - Official Site (en)
should be enough to understand that your statement regarding balance is untrue.

Yeah, the gun everyone used that made the game the best online console game ever to this day. That one.
One gun will rise to the top no matter what. Might as well make the game great rather than sacrifice the entire experience for no real good reason with all weak guns. You’re just going to have to adapt to great Halo again if the make it 4 shot kill. I think you’ll manage.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA
>You’re just going to have to adapt
Or you know, you could adapt since you are doing all the -Yoinking!-.
>weak guns
So… You complain one gun is weak and somehow all are weak?

Yeah, everything in the world of Halo for some mysterious reason is now a 5 shot kill. Don’t know why or how they rationalize it. Especially considering all the defensive abilities introduced to the sandbox. EVERYONE should be crying out for more damage on all the guns so the game can have some great flow and pace. All the MP footage I’ve seen is as awkward and slow as Reach. Not good flow and pace. GREAT.

The BR was “OP” as a starting weapon in Halo 3 because nothing could compete with it at as many ranges. (The carbine could technically compete with it in the sense of kill times/ranges but it required much more accuracy and it’s lacking of presence on many maps allowed for the BR to become the “go-to” weapon.)
The performances shown at E3 and the respective killtimes of the BR/DMR/Carbine would suggest that a 4SK BR would not be OP in Halo 4–because the DMR could still surpass it at longer ranges and the Carbine could act as a suitable replacement at similar ranges. Also, the addition of loadouts from Halo 3 to Halo 4 would allow players to choose among the three weapons based on preference rather than map availability alone.
I personally am a huge BR fan, but I’ve already decided that, if the 5SK doesn’t change before launch, I’m going to start getting used to the Carbine/DMR because they both have much shorter killtimes.
