We saw both the Carbine and BR in Halo 3, and the Needle Rifle & DMR in Reach.

True but that was to even the playing field. We will see multiple rifles in Halo 4. Most likely only two will make the cut in MLG. I don’t see the DMR and BR both making it.
Why are you yelling? and they will both be in MLG but i think the BR will be the gun of choice when it is all said and done.

I am unsure about wether both would be in mlg but I am defiantly curious and excited about this. DMR has always been a favorite of mine since I saw the BR as single shot in the e3 gameplay preview for halo 2. (I used to mod the halo 2 BR to be single shot and play campaign with it haha)
I believe the newest Game Informer told of the BR, DMR, an assault carbine, and covenant carbine. Wouldn’t that mean there could be up to three of these in a competitive map?

I’m predicting that the two weapons will be roughly on par with each other, but both will have an edge over the other in certain situations. I’m also predicting that both will have a rabid fanbase who irrationally claim that their rifle is far superior to the other rifle.
And then there will be that one weirdo who prefers the Covenant Carbine.
That weirdo will probably be me.

I figure that the DMR would get used on maps with longer sight lines. With the BR serving the all-purpose role, the DMR would have to fill the long-range niche.
