br bullet spread

So just a quick information moment real quick… i keep on hearing that the br has bullet spread in halo 4… but IT DOES NOT it has recoil. the bullets go in a straight line the entire time. just like halo 2

It has Bullet spread and Recoil.

Reads OP’s post…

…looks for supporting evidence

Nah not buying it OP.

i have used it? go test in custom games… the only thing throwing the aim off is the recoil, but you can compensate for it. it is not random at all, also i have yet to see any evidence showing that there is spread… shoot a wall in one spot. if you compensate for recoil all the shots hit the same spot too.

If you skip to 2:20 it shoes the bulled marks, also note that he did not compensate for recoils at all, he had his hand off the aim.

Well the vid just demonstrates bullet spread when maxing out on RoF, if you slow your RoF you are more accurate? - Sure i’d agree with that but slowing your RoF means you are already dead.

Now as for the BR’s bullets all traveling in an exactly straight line on a single trigger pull. No this is false - I justed tested it to be sure.

Find a nice flat wall, get some distance and stop, pull the trigger once;

move closer - 1/2 the distance and repeat in a slightly different spot;

move to within 5-10m and fire your last single burst again in a different spot.

Examine the marks on the wall - the distance between the bullet holes in the first will be the widest, and the groupings will get tighter the nearer you got to the wall. This is bullet spread and it exists for the BR.

But yes, recoil causes the rifle to pull up as well.

BTW liked the video, kill time 1.68sec with the DMR, 1.8sec with the BR - got to do something about that DMR, takes an AR 1.7sec to kill at CQC.

This video clearly show horizontal bullet spread as well as vertical bullet spread/ recoil.

i guess bullet magnitism tops it for me, also i usually aim for the chest at longer distances too. also really ar is 1.7 WOW no wonder i always get dmred while i use it, also when i thouhght spread i was thinking more like halo 3 where it was VERY noticable. it is only really a factor in long range fights. Gla to actually have a productive discussion. is there any way we could “nerf” the dmr slightly so that the spread on a br is actually an advantage, i always thought making the dmr a six shot kill would work, as well has making long range more skilled as well. or would that make the light rifle too op
