Boycott and Petition Halo Infinite

Hello gamers… We all have a story to share when it comes to Halo. Some of us were of the few original crew left from the traditional Halo trilogy, some from the proudly advancing technologies of Halo Reach, but undoubtedly declining core mechanics of the trilogy, and some by the more ultra-diverse style of Halo ODST, Halo Wars, Halo 4 and after. I know many are still proud to call themselves a fan of the series, as you may be from a later version, but I would like to remind everyone, that if we lose the identity of the very first, then what relevance is there to the name Halo? What makes Halo? Is it the Master Chief? Well originally he was designed as a voiceless suit of armor, meant to be an unstoppable beast who you could fill the shoes of as he had no apparent personality to divert from yourself? Was it the gameplay mechanics? As armor abilities, specifically sprint and sights, weapon mechanical overhaul, and carbon copied Forerunner and Covenant guns from the UNSC have utterly segregated themselves from the originals. Is it the graphic appearance and feel? But wait, the brighter color pallet, plastic textures, and polymorphing have entirely changed so much over the years it is hard to know it is even the same game if it were not the fact that Master Chief’s iconic army green has not be switched out for the new and improved rainbow color. I am no expert, I do not know what goes into a game and financially successful its chances are, but what I do know, is that I love games. But I am consumer and I have a voice, so do you… No more in-game microtransactions, no more DLC, no more identity crippling gameplay altercations, no more graphical individualization from the trilogy, no more unfinished products after launch, no more lack of split-screen, no more party chat in game, and no more of all of it. All of us can agree something seems odd with todays games, as we always feel ripped off in one way or another. I want to pop in the Halo disk and run the game and play 4 player campaign with my friends. I want to immediately after feel the urge to replay the missions over and over again. I want to hop into Multiplayer with a thriving player base and hop into game with no party chat and just get to know new people. I want to play Halo. I know not everybody will agree with the originals core designs, and the later versions are not bad per say, they are good games in fact, just bad Halo games. And with all the new rumors and findings around Halo Infinite, I do not want a bad game in general especially. That is why I am boycotting Halo Infinite and if you wish to make a difference and turning this thing around, then I suggest joining me. I’m no spokes person and I can not guarantee you that anything will make a difference, but I can say you saved yourself $60. If 343 and Microsoft abide by the things we do not want, then they may happily take my money, if not, then as for anyone who joins this Boycott including I, will not be playing your next installation.

Look, I can tell you are a passionate fan of Halo, as are most of us on the site. But petitions are against the rules here. Rallying for a boycott is also a no-go here. I would simply recommend waiting until more information comes out about Infinite before deciding on anything like this. The fact of the matter is we know so little about the game. But we do know that split screen is coming back… so one of your wishes has already been granted.
