Bought Reach and ODST but still says I have to buy

I bought Halo Reach and ODST for the Halo Master Chief Collection for my Xbox One but when I go to play it it says I need to purchase it. I have looked and it is in my recent purchases. Any help would be appreciated.

I would try a hard reset of the Xbox and then try again.

I’ve tried that and I uninstalled the game and loaded it again

Have you gone into Manage Games and add-ons to make sure the content is downloaded?

I have and it doesn’t show that they are available to download

What happens when you go back to the Microsoft store? Does it ask for you to purchase them again?

Yes it does.

Have you hard reset yet?

I have had problems with some Xbox Live purchases before (not Halo: Reach or ODST) where I buy it, I’m charged, and yet it’s not in my library until I hard reset.

I’ve done the soft factory reset.

After a hard reset go back into managed games there maybe some small update or something that you need to install. And if not and if uninstall/re-install has not worked you may have to call and try to get a refund and buy it again.

Are you sure you purchased it on that profile and not another that was signed in?

My profile is the only one on the Xbox

Nutty, never heard of the Xbox store stealing money with no verification in return, Microsoft’s usually more secure than that.

The only thing I can think of is it downloaded for the PC. I purchased through my phone since it was on sale and I would be able to get to the Xbox before it ended but I’ve done this before and didn’t have an issue.

You should have an email receipt for what was purchased. Check it out and read it carefully to see which version you bought. You could have purchased the PC version or something.

I have had this same problem on pc with ms store ( i now play with the steam version. It used to say that i dont have any dlc installed ( separate from base game which allows you to play different games in mcc). every time i opened this would come. The workaround i found was that
1-sign out of ms store and sign in again. Then click on download mcc it would download all the dlc etc or missing files.
2- some times it wouldnt work so i would sign out. reset ms store and then sign in again and download

I hope it also works on xbox cuz this was a problem with ms store which is also present on xbox

I have it on PC from steam as well but I wanted to buy it on Xbox One.

I had the same issue I had to contact Xbox they had to send me 2 codes 1 for ODST and 1 For reach. Took me like 4 hours to get it fixed. They could tell I paid for it but could not play after doing everything. Then they finally sent 2 codes and said here haha!

On a phone or PC, go to account.microsoft.com/billing/orders, sign in, and see if it’s in your recent orders. If it’s not, then either you never purchased it or you did so from another Microsoft account.
