Did matchmaking kill this conversation? Or do any of you still see potential for including bots in multiplayer for either offline play, or perhaps - if there isn’t a “Join Session In Progress” feature in Infinite’s matchmaking - bots could be dropped in to fill for quitters in objective gametypes only. You could probably also craft some nifty custom games with access to bots. Anyways what’s the consensus here?
Bots are amazing for offline play and I’d love for them to come to Infinite, playing Quake Live with bots is one of the most enjoyable offline multiplayer experiences.
I’d really prefer harsher penalties for blatant quitters in matchmaking to discourage leaving games but it doesn’t seem 343 are interested in that route so at this point I’d take this compromise and have bots take the empty slot, a debate would have to be had about how effective the bot would be.
Having multiplayer bots for Custom Games at the very least would be a boon to the game especially for those that say they aren’t very good at PvP. In addition, being able to place AI spawn points would be amazing to do in Forge as there are a lot of character skins to choose from. Imagine going up against Sgt. Johnson on Legendary settings.
It would be nice to have bots in custom games, as for multiplayer I’m against it unless the bot is actually good otherwise it’s just a point farm for the other team

True, but that’s why you only enable bots in matchmaking for objective-based gametypes, those where kills don’t score. That way a bot filling in for an empty slot could only help your chances, as opposed to just nothing. Imagine Oddball for instance.
I would like to see MP bots when offline, kinda like rocket league. Some people want the MP experience but do not have access to internet or good enough internet, so bots could be a good alternative. The only problem though is them actually being good bots and not standing around doing nothing like cyberpunk ai

I agree with that, that or add a join back option for people who have been disconnected unless they were booted of course
Having bots for multiplayer COD-type games would be a good idea as a way of training in a private way or just as a way to get to play offline

I feel like this should be a standard feature. I’m really hoping it was removed for technical issues rather than anything else, because like why? It seems pretty reasonable.

Or like Halo marines lol

I’m deeply unconvinced. They’re great in Gears but always got the impression its MP was waaaay sweatier
I agree bots are great at training new comers as well and those that play offline. We already invested a bit into fighting AI in mp warzone, why not expand upon that system.
I would rather fight bots where I can chose the difficulty level myself

^ That’s a really cool thought
