Bots too easy

I think bots on Spartan difficulty are too easy. Cause I don’t know about other people
But I have never lost a match against bots

Bots were Marine and ODST difficulty not Spartan

They were on Spartan the last day, but they felt more or less the same as the odst bots

I think in the last Inside Infinite someone mentioned wanting to differentiate the difficulty between ODST and spartan more greatly.

I agree, bots were too easy even the odst bots. Bots were nading to perfection but need to have an option to toggle bot difficulty to even higher levels maybe.

Or it could be that the fundamental bot AI needs adjusting on each difficulty level in order to stop the constant crowding and 110% accuracy grenades.

Plans are to adjust the bot difficultly to make each difficulty scale a bit better. Make them feel different as you go higher.

Bots are a training tool, they’re not meant to stomp players.
They’re there to help introduce new players into the game & to practice and warm up if you’re a veteran player.

As mentioned above, plans are in place to scale the bot difficulty a bit better and also make them a bit more versatile in combat. I recommend reading the latest Inside Infinite blog here on Waypoint, it goes into great detail about the goal of bots & 343i’s plans to adjust them to make them better.

Spartan Bots should have their difficulty increases slightly. I couldnt really tell the difference between ODST and Spartan Bots…they all died very similarly.

That will work too, I wanted to fight tougher bots, I am hoping in flight2 if the bots option is still there will we see adjustments or not.

There were almost zero games I played where the bots collectively got 10 kills on any difficulty, I’d be interested to see more advanced bots but the issue is AI in its current form can always be exploited. The only AI that usually has an advantage over you is AI that cheats like in fighting games where they read your inputs and react accordingly on the highest difficulty. They don’t want the AI in this game to cheat which is refreshing as they do in almost every other game I can think of, like they know where you are on the map at all times in other games.

I believe 343 had addressed that there was a bug with Spartans not being as good as they should and the ODST always trying to do the same thing which made them predictable. By next flight these kinks should be worked out, as well as adding another difficulty.

Pretty sure the point of the technical preview was to make sure the bots work so players don’t feel like they have unbalanced teams when people quit in the final product. Pretty sure playing against people won’t be a problem but I think it’s better than dealing with JIP where I could randomly join a losing team.

Bots are confirmed to be coming in the next technical test yes. Alongside bot slayer, classic 4v4 slayer and BTB supposedly.

I unfortunately only had time to play a little bit of the beta, and I felt the main weakness of the bots was that once you broke line of sight with them, they didnt pursue to finish you off.

Makes sense because we always had bots in Halo, right?

People say, “the bots were soooo easy”… Blah blah blah… They were smart. The took cover, the didn’t push, they waited for backup, they team shot, they pinched players that were boxed in… Sure they weren’t super difficult and would get caught on corners or ramps… But it was fun playing against them.

The ODST’s were obviously more challenging than the spartan bots. Maybe 343 purposefully gave us the Spartans as ODST’s and Spartans were actually ODST’s.

I thought the bots were more challenging than I realized, sometimes I thought there actual people playing based on some of the skills Ive seen

I’m not sure what you’re getting at, but I think the bots are a great addition to the game.
