BOTS need to join ranked

I’d be fine if those in the game didn’t have their rank impacted, but if you repeatedly quit, even if the games don’t count for others, your rank should go down IMO. We don’t want to encourage people to quit anytime they’re losing.

Yeah, I realized it would encourage quitting after I saw CrionikS’ post.

I guess I misread your post, but yeah, if the match went on even after someone quit, the team still there shouldn’t lose rank as much if they lose.

Were there Call of Duty-like death cams in Halo 5?
If so, I wish they would’ve kept those in Infinite.

What’s wrong with the scoreboard?

I always get my kill cam / death cam terminology mixed up but in H5 it was you could move the camera around on your dead body and in H4 you saw how the player killed you so whichever way around that is. The point is they included the cam where you could scroll through your teams POV and included that in FFA where you could scroll through the enemy’s POV. They realised and switched that off and now it’s back in infinite.

Nothing much

  • wrong team colour shown
  • wrong winning team shown
  • incorrect rounding down of points in oddball
  • oddball points showing as the total accrued not 2-0, 2-1 so if the game was close the win is sometimes awarded to wrong team
  • BTB power cell thing scoreboard is chaos
  • players not displayed in winning order
  • N/A shown as team

There’s more but can’t remember but yeah not much :joy:

Edit; I’m referring to the scoreboard post game not in game and there may be something in the store for 49.99 to fix the scoreboard

Oh, right, I was thinking of kill cams.
Those are what I wish were in the game.

I thought it was weird that you could look at what the other players were doing, but it’s really weird that they already made it so you couldn’t in Halo 5 yet didn’t bring that change to Infinite.

Wow, I didn’t realize there was that much wrong with it.

That part about the wrong team being shown made me remember a bug I’ve been noticing with the game where my AI and player voice aren’t always the ones I have selected.

Yeah.

Kill cams ( I think) were the only thing I liked in H4.

Nice to see how you died to reduce the what the …ing and gave less of an advantage of looking around than death cams (I think) do.

But there is post about that and I’ve hijacked enough of OP - sorry.

if not spartan level bots joining to ‘even’ the match, then at least have people que up and join mid gamed matches. or have a combo of both, bots joining until a player joins, like qp. but that’s probably asking for too much considering bots joining only works 1/4th the time
as for the quitters… yeah, some sort of punishment is needed, aside from a temp ban. loss of rank xp is needed. as well as a heads up stating as such

Wouldn’t want bots if it was my team or the other team for any period of time. If they’re good other team is annoyed, if they are bad we’re annoyed.

If they were programmed to perform an exact average of the remainder of the team they are on then maybe but that’s asking too much. Or maybe perform how the leaving player usually performs but again too much.

Yep, warn the leaving player then dock them half a rank level thingy (exact terminology, I think you’ll find), don’t punish the team (unless it’s last few seconds) if they lose, reward them more if they win.

And yes, actual human joining mid game - fine by me as long as balanced as before

Players should only be able to join if the match is less than halfway complete, if it’s on the winning team or either team when the scores of both are close.

It wouldn’t be good to join a losing team that has no chance of winning or a game that’s almost over (even if you join the winning team).

For quitting, players should have maybe 1-3 games every 24 hours they can quit without any problems.
The warning would tell them that if they quit or leave another Ranked match:

  • Their rank will be lowered.
  • They won’t be able to play Ranked for a certain amount of time.
  • If they continue to quit, the amount the rank is lowered by will increase, and the time they can’t play Ranked will increase.

i mean, there are 4 levels of difficulty, so a bot joining and replacing a member, with its level being based on how said player was doing could work. would be like no one left. maybe have it be based on k/d or something?

joining before the halfway mark would be perfect. that way there’s at least a somewhat winning chance, or some period of time to turn the tides of battle

perfect! a good punishment for leaving ranked. and on the note of warning players… a warning should also be given in non ranked matches, given how there is also a punishment for leaving those, being a temp ban

Yeah, I played against Spartan bots a lot in the flight.

You have to remember that I’m thinking of high level ranked here, not Gold or Platinum or even lower Diamond lobbies. Think D5+. I just cannot see those level players struggling against the bots at any difficulty.

Their inclusion in objective modes, on Spartan difficulty, could maybe work to some degree, but in Slayer they will just be targeted. A bot won’t react to callouts or specific map strategies either (such as defending specific points of the map for a prolonged period, e.g. tower on Live Fire Oddball) so they can impact spawns negatively too.

I get the idea but I think it’s just not going to help and may make the game even more frustrating against smart opposition.

Maybe they should make a bot to surpass the Spartan tier.

They should get them to react to those.

Spartan level bots are still very very bad
