Can we have another round of applause about how awesome the addition of bots is?
Imagine if bots will take place of quitters until someone joins-in-progress again?
Or populates a dead playlist?
I can’t think of any negatives here. Am I missing something? Are there any detrimental effects the inclusion of bots can have on MP?
Not trying to be negative but I am not a fan. So my teammates leave and I get a bot that walks around with his head facing the ground going -20?
adding them to a playlist: I want to play against real people who have some type of skill. Not trying to be negative just realistic

I get that man and I doubt they will put bots in any Ranked playlist but for Social with the amount of quitting that goes on there needs to be bots I can’t even tell you how many Big Team games I play where it gets down to 2 people on the other team and stays like that for the entire match its maddening. Plus Bots are much much better these days and can actually kill people now especially social baddies. I am actually more worried about bots just being straight headhunters than anything else.

How about no bot step-ins in Ranked, but they are ON for social? Also, have you played against bots in the likes of Q3 - matches can get pretty sweaty.
Gears of War 3 had bots replace quitters and I won 10 games for every loss and had a 6+ k/d ratio. Can confirm it’s an awful experience for everyone involved. The bots in Fortnite are a joke as well.
Would need to play against them first, but I’m assuming they’ll be worse than playing a man down. Would much rather keep them to custom games, but will keep an open mind until I’ve played them.
Bots are an amazing addition and the #1 thing I am looking forward to in Infinite, but uhh… I’d rather keep them in custom games. I have floated the idea of having a bot swap in in place of a player, but only in a custom game browser. I think it would be good to have an option for bot/ player swapping in a custom game browser so you can more easily get a game going/ have something to do while you’re waiting for it to fill up. In matchmaking I would rather play against human players. Maybe I’ll change that opinion, but we’ll have to see how good they are. If you want to play game modes in a dead playlist, start it up with bots in custom games. I think 343 is aware of the basic expectations people would have for bots and aren’t going to release absolutely brain dead bots, so I have high hopes for this feature.
Adding them into online multiplayer to replace real players could lead to people losing or winning matches unfairly. It would be great locally though if your offline or don’t have Gold.
I believe adding bots could make people quit even more. I say instead of a run around for quitters we address the real problem of people quitting. Instead of quit 1 get 1 minute time out we make it quit 3 times in 1 hour gets you 1hr ban. Of course times I’m saying are examples but you get the point.
I’m just saying, play For Honor. Those lvl 3 bots are scary.
I don’t think bots should fill in for players in most playlists, but like in a couple social playlists it’s probably fine. Reason being, it’s hard to make a bot a proper teammate replacement. Even if 343 did a great job, the bots will still probably be either too good or too bad typically. And if they’re too bad, the enemy will just prey on them for the win
it will definitely be a plus playing split screen + bots offline with friends, there were times I went out and took my xbox with me to a friend’s house or whatever and it got kinda annoying playing 1v1s all the time
The academy is the best addition to the game since Forge. It’s going to increase the lifespan of the game by giving new players somewhere to go without getting stomped by champs. And not getting stomped by champs right away is going to allow those players more play time before walking away out of frustration.
And more playtime with Halo inevitably means more Halo fans
I hope there are degrees of difficulties for the bots. Particularly for the academy. I could see myself getting tired of t-bagging toxic players and just running a multiplayer game mode full of bots on both sides for kicks. Obviously if they are all brain dead bots, then it wouldn’t be fun. I think something like Smash where you could set the difficulty to different degrees, that could be fun. I don’t know about them filling in for quitting players. Maybe if they did have degrees of difficulty, they could swap on in with a similar “ranking” to the player who quit? An idea, but not sure how practical it could be.
I just think bots are neat. Just imagine what we could do with bots in forge…

Have you seen the Gears 5 bots? They are even better than the average player.
Speaking of the post, I made a topic a few days ago asking 343 to introduce bots in more game modes, both for PVE and PVP, I see it as a very positive function for the game:
We need more PVE and PVP content with Bots | Halo Infinite | Forums | Halo - Official Site (halowaypoint.com)
I think it would be a great idea for objective team base games but not for slayer game types and probably have them in social not ranked. If you ever played BF2 (2017) the bots on there are good as Well.
Intrigued by the addition of bots since it’s a first for Halo, but think it might be a fairly limited feature where bots are only present in the training mode and a limited number of non-competitive matchmaking playlists. If the AI is good enough to mimic human Spartans, that’s great but I would be surprised by it
Also hope this indicates we’ll be able to place AI in Forge this time, since fans have been asking for it forever, but I doubt the pathfinding is good enough to make that work. Rather it will be based on pathing through the static pre-made maps; they won’t be able to find their way through environments that players construct
I hope bots are just in custom games. The first time I lose a close match because a bot teammate died, is the last time I play that playlist
Lovin’ the addition of bots and all the possibilities.

There’s different degrees of difficulty. In the multiplayer overview on Monday you can see the bots set to “marine” at the academy. And there probably is a ranking system.

Bots aren’t necessarily bad. Ever played Black Ops 2? The max difficulty bots were ridiculously hard even in a 1 bot vs 3 human situation, while I doubt they will be as good as Black Ops 2 bots it’s not impossible that they will be at least competent. Even if they’re bad they will always be better than a player in a gunner seat.
