Bots in Halo 4!

This is just me starting a rumor, and I think I make a good argument.

If you haven’t seen the Conan O’Brien Voiceover video for Halo 4 for just click the link.

If you notice in the video, it doesn’t show a name above the guys head. Nor does it say “You killed So and So” on the bottom left. This gives me a good reason to believe it was a bot. You may be thinking: “Well that’s just the new thing!” or “They just don’t want to reveal their Gamertag!” That may be true; however, in the Halo 4 First Look video it DOES show their Gamertags and it DOES show “So and So killed So and So” on the bottom left. Also, don’t say that bots can’t move like that because there are games out there where they can, and this is new technology so you never know.

What do you guys think?

That set aside, here are my thoughts on it: If bots are in Halo 4, they should not be in Matchmaking (or just not in ranked playlists if they have them). They should just be in Custom Games and Forge. That is all. XD

it was also not shooting back. out of all of the threads ive seen on this subject, no one mentioned that is didnt shoot off one round in that 10 second clip. obvious beta AI

or maybe another guy was playing and was told not to shoot…

Lordskull you eagle-eyed son of a -Yoink-, I think you’re on to something.

I did notice that, I just forgot about mentioning it. And when you say beta AI, do you mean they are testing AIs or they are just using them to test multiplayer?

I doubt it, Halo has never had bots before, and not due to hardware limitations but simple greed from MS. MS though (rightfully so) that if people could play games with bots, they would just play with bots + friends, and hence not buy expensive gold subscriptions. No gold = less $$$ = MS :’(
Many games have removed bots simply because they give people the opportunity to have fun and play offline, and not buy online pass/gold/DLC maps. No more hosts, no more lags, no quitters or betrayers, bots sure sound sweet
And that’s why we’ll never see them in Halo :frowning:

You prove a good point, but 343 is taking over and they are changing a lot of things that “Halo has never had”. Also, about your MS, money issue, XBL is so well established that games are starting to bring back bots now. You argument would probably be more valid if we were speaking back in 2007.

Halo has had bots since ODST, The just called it firefight.

I didn’t think about that, thanks for remembering that.

Halo alone bring in (based on sold copies, not second hand market included) at least 10+ million gamers, and 10+ million subscriptions for xbox live. The only few exclusives Ms got except Halo worth mentioning is Gears, Fable and Forza. None of them can bring as high number of players, none of them has focus on competitive online gaming, and Gears is not even owned by MS.
MS needs Halo to sell xbox consoles, and to sell Gold subscriptions, you can play CoD for Free at Ps3, and many would change without doubt without Halo. I for once would be satisfied playing Halo with friends offline + bots, and then play any other game online for free on Ps3. Epic actually did a survey amongst Unreal Tournament 2004 gamers, and 56% never even once tried the game online since the bots were so good.
Same goes for Battlefield 1942 and similar games. It’s no surprise the new games lack bots…
I would love to see bots for Halo, I would really do, but I doubt it. 2 years of live = one new game at release, and one year live gold gives Ms more money then they get when you buy a 360-game. They need live, they’re earning millions each day, and anything that might threaten that income (money for nothing) is killed off.

While arguments for having bots still stand, its obvious that the one if the video is not a bot. There’s even a custom option in Reach to hide gamertags. That and I doubt such a huge addition wouldn’t be bragged about by 343. Its not there style.

I support bots in Halo 100%, but it seems unlikely the video is exactly true.

The only thing I want bots for is Machinima’s.
