In terms of winning matches, it is more beneficial to only have 3 players, rather than a bot that plays at an extremely low skill level (especially in Slayer game mode) - My suggestion is to remove bot backfill entirely, or increase their skill to something that is more in tune with higher tier training mode bots.
I disagree that only having 3 is more beneficial than a bot. You can still use the AI as a team mate, you might just have to adapt to what it’s doing and follow. But making sure it’s ODST level is key. Marine bots are cannon fodder and even the bot match playlist is a bit of a joke right now compared to the Insider Preview. Halo Infinite has some good options for PVE gameplay, and it needs to better leverage what it has (especially with Campaign co-op being delayed) to both sort out these matchmaking problems and give better bot gameplay all round.
Very often my match ends with my mates leaving and i have to play alone against humans players, just today it happened 4 times, one of this matches, i played with 3 Marine bots against 3 humans and one ODST bot, this is not funny
Completely agree. The 3 is better than 4 argument has only been from experience at this point. That’s almost never the case for real matches (especially something like strongholds). But I think it is probably why they don’t backfill in Ranked Matches - they have it balanced (from what Ive seen) that if you play against 3ppl, you gain way less progress to the next rank; opposed to playing 4ppl.
The player with one less person should lose and will lose most of the time, I think backfilling with bots in quickplay is actually working quite nicely. It means you can get the slayer games over quickly instead of having to win via the clock.
I didn’t think I’d like them in quickplay but it’s alright actually.
That’s a good point about increasing game speed. It was always the worst in MCC when 1 person would make the game last full time because they didn’t want to get banned for quitting.
Also anything to get rid of the join in progress. I hate that mechanic in online gaming more than anything.
Yeah that is brutal - I haven’t joined a game that was over in 1 minute yet. But it has only been 4 days, there is still time lol
