the lack of explanation is one of the thing that bugs me the most, because my kids were upset and i had no way to accurately explain why it was gone and if it would be back
Half of which playlist? Quick play? Team doubles? Rumble pit? Because along with BB, five other playlists have been taken out.
I couldnât agree more with you on this. Like it was a brand new game mode for players to try and test out. The game is f2p so why not leave a nice introduction game mode in the game for new players to come and experience.
Especially when player returning may want to get a feel for the newaps.
Ultimately we all play video games to have fun.
Some people have fun playing against bots and they werenât negatively impacting anyone else by doing so.
Whether or not you like playing against bots please consider how you have felt or would feel if 343 removed content you enjoyed without any reason.
Once more, as is sadly typical for 343, theyâve chosen not to communicate about a decision theyâve made which they knew would negatively impact some players. Itâs not good enough.
I totally agree with this. I donât understand why players that didnât play Bot Bootcamp are trying to defend itâs removal. It allowed me to play multiplayer with friends and family that are not as skilled as me. It was a nice relaxing mode.
Some times after I got wrecked is Slayer enough, I just went to BB to unwind and relax. What is wrong with letting players enjoy a game the way they want to? ESPECIALLY WHEN THIS MODE DIDNâT AFFECT THE SWEATY PLAYERS? It didnât harm anyone.
I like how you say itâs not a kids game when they make books, mega block sets, and toys that appeal to kids.
Also, itâs not up to you to parent other peopleâs children. If they want to share Halo with their kids, itâs their choice.
The playlist didnât harm anyone. It was a nice relaxing game mode that you can ignore if you want. Otherâs enjoyed it and it didnât affect any of the sweaty players out there.
No one against bot bootcamp can explain why the mode is bad for them, or why pve players earning xp is bad. You know what happens when pve players can only play pvp? They stop playing. So it makes no difference for pvp players at all if 343 keeps bot bootcamp in the game.
Aside from Bootcamp messing with your hidden rank or whatever in matchmaking, there was no reason to get rid of it other than playlist limitations. Though someone recommended it should have been part of Academy and it would have been a moot point entirely since Academy doesnât affect your online rankings at all (AFAIK).
Sorry your kids are upset but someone was more focused on bottom lines than hiring good, loyal employees to help work on the game engine. No one at 343 really knows how to fix things in the Slipspace engine without breaking something else. (Funny, I assumed that for a whole year and was proved correct). Speaking of UI limitations, I wonder if that horrible, ear-splitting click is still audible in headsets.
I donât understand where this disdain for Bot bootcamp is coming from. I play pvp, and having BB in the playlist didnât bother me, it was availble for those who wanted to use it for their own reasons: new to the game, uncomfortable with pvp, or just as a means to wind down after some intense pvp games. It clearly was being used by a certain portion of the population, 343 shouldnât have abandoned a segment of the population without giving them some notice or justification for it. 343 would do some good by acknowledging the removal, and letting people know if the change is permanent or not.
you forget then 1 thing also.
if things go wrong like we all have see the past couple years then its not there fault that a child stole all there parents money from there credit card no then the blame goâs to the game company and not there own since its the parents big mistake in the first place.
we have all read that type news.
in this case its more about a save place for kids since not any multiplayer game has a save space for then in a FPS game.
i miss the trash talk from the NPCâs like back in the old halo dayâs and not forget the other things like some effectâs when you kill some bruteâs or eliteâs back in the old dayâs.
for the bootcamp playlist its only good to learn how to use weapons in the game for new players same with the grapple hook and so how to use it.
that there have remove it has maybe there own reasons and since there is no official statement and we maybe not get also why its been remove.
Bot Bootcamp would be better with Spartan level bots. Marine bots are cannon fodder if you are clueless on how to play at even a basic level.
Again, it doesnât have to be for learning. Players donât have to move from BB to PvP. I donât think you have any empathy. If you did, you could understand that some people play games differently than you do and itâs totally okay.
It is completely okay that some players never want to play multiplayer against human players and to just against bots. They never have to âlearnâ and move into PvP after bot boot camp.
I also hope you never have a game mode you enjoy taken from you. Itâs not fun. Bot Bootcamp was a mode other players enjoyed and it is disappointing for those players it was removed without announcement or explanation.
Itâs ok you donât care it was removed but you can not explain away someoneâs disappointment because they enjoyed it. So you can give me your two cents but it doesnât matter.
I think their reasoning was that by removing it theyâd be pushing a percentage of those who frequently spent time in it over to PvP playlists and perhaps they hadnât been able to properly adjust the amount of XP points that can be earn through it.
Iâd guess they donât want it to be the playlist that allows the quickest progression through your battle pass. I can agree with the need to prevent it from being the most rewarding XP method, but they shouldâve kept it around; though, with a smaller XP payout.
Example: 50 XP for completing a match. An extra 50 XP for winning. Allow relevant challenges to be possible for completion.
I too would use that playlist when playing with my daughter so she could progress her battle pass. Her Uncle & I are significantly better than her so we didnât want to compromise her ability to find any encounter success in a PvP match. I hope they rectify their removal mistake in the near future.
Glad to see this thread get some support i really hope they change their minds and bring it back and if not at least explain why (not that i think thereâs any justifiable reason)
Itâs coming back:

Hey, the Bot Bootcamp playlist will be returning. Itâll take some time; the team wants to look at some potential tweaks. More details to come.
For more info on the teamâs overall approach to playlists, please check out this article:

Calling a trainings mode like BB a PvE is an insult to PvE. I get it, âclosest thing toâ but yall need have some standards. We should have had FF in this game with itâs own challenges since day one, instead of settling for BB.
If there is a perfect legitimate reason why it was removed, then they should just say so, but I am quite sure there isnât. Sitting at the top of the food chain for 343 is a bunch of wannabe know-it-allâs that have done nothing but make bad decisions.
I bring you back to the example of the TV series, are you kidding me, and that was 343 making the decisions, and they absolutely destroyed it, some may have a different opinion, but they are few and far between, so as far as I am concerned and everybody that I know is concerned, it is/was rubbish.
When all said and done, there is no good reason to remove Bot BootCamp, especially with all the game-play problems many people experience in PVP, Bot BootCamp was the only safe area to participate. Maybe the people that are totally against Bot BootCamp and tell people to just join PVP and suck it up, I think they enjoy stomping people with bad connections and kids, yeah thatâs it, them and the cheaters. Does Ya Feel good?
I never knew that there could be a group of people that could be called toxic casuals. But the way some of you BB players respond to any advice people give is radioactive.
