Bossless Warzone

With the exception of Marines and invading enemies, wouldn’t it be fun if points were based solely on killing enemy Spartans, and not making cheep points off getting that final shot on a boss the other team worked so hard on killing. It would keep things more even, and focus people on claiming bases. Basically making it a giant big team battle/strongholds.

Most players seem to already ignore the bosses. If 343 added some new or novel bosses, people may be more interested in fighting bosses again.

I remember when the Warden would spawn next to the monument on Battle of Noctus and everybody would be blazing away at him.

I’m not sure about the idea of only being able to get points for kills, as it would feel, to me, too similar to BTB.

Ever since the 6 man fireteam update I’ve barely played it so I wouldn’t really be able to tell you.

Could be fun. I wouldn’t mind seeing a warzone like btb slayer where there is no bosses or having to capture basses/armories. But I would still have covies/promeatheans that spawn in from time to time.

Warzone Assault is one team defending each base at a time, and the other trying to capture those bases. I’m talking about having the three bases open, and being fought over by both teams, just without the bosses.

  • No, Assault is actually fairly different. - Yeah, but what always happens (to me at least), is my team completely ignores the bosses, and leaves the other team to claim them, putting them to far in the league. - I just think its worth excluding the bosses if few people (on one team) are going to fight them and let the other team take them for easy points.

Not particularly. The fun I have in warzone is about the branching objectives. Removing the bosses as objectives would make the playlist far worse for me.

So taking away the only possibilty that I can get more then 1000points?

Extincted enemy bosses in Warzone means less fun for WZFF.

I mainly posted this out of anger from every game of Warzone I play I’m on a team where everyone pays 0% attention to the bosses and lets the opposing team get them, and they pay more attention to the bases, its very constant (for me). I figure if that’s how a lot of people play it, then why not have a Warzone variant that excludes bosses, thus diminishing the opposing team’s ability to make easy points, and everyone is more focused on one objective.

Remove bosses? Nah. I would though like to see a little less emphasis on them though. The later update where the 150’s were cut to 100 really helped, but when Warzone was first announced it sounded… Different somehow… To what we have.
The game really revolves more around who can land the most Legendary Boss kills and if you’ve got your spawnkill-mele ready on the Darkstar soldier boss, more than player kills. Unless both teams have their scores more or less evenly matched, or a losing team landed the final boss to bring the scores equal… Then that’s really what Warzone is: Who can get the most bosses, or triple cap first.

But, that’s the way it is and though it can be frustrating at times, I wouldn’t want to have any drastic changes be made to it either. What I’d rather see is some weekend playlists that mix things up somehow. Turbo’s a great example of that, and maybe they could have like Warzone KOTH… Imagine a Crazy King variant on Warzone maps as a weekend playlist.

Or Warzone with limited REQ Levels. Remember early in Halo 5’s life where there ended up being (quite many) games where everyone was stuck with Assault Rifles and Magnums? In order to get weapons you had to fight the bosses for what they dropped. It was actually pretty interesting. What if they had a game type where the level was capped at say 3 or 5?

That’s the sort of thing I’d like to see more than the base WZ being changed: Weekend WZ playlists that geniunely do something different.

You get on a weak team, you can take out the bosses to stay with in reach. Your guys leave your team, then you can keep in pace until more players come.

It’s already bossless WZ for me.

Warzone Assault is all about capturing/defending bases when Warzone is a little more than that. In Assault, the amount of kills someone gets doesn’t even matter so long as the control points are captured, but in Warzone, the kills do matter. I think what OP wants is something driven by both capturing/defending and racking up kills, if that makes any sense.

That’s pretty much warzone assault, however the population in it is rather low.
