So I’ve played a decent amount of Halo 5 now and LOVE IT! Warzone is a great addition, HOWEVER what I believe to be a critical flaw is the way scoring is assigned for boss killing.
To many times has the enemy team (even myself many times) have snuck in last second and put the absolute last shot on the enemy, and that one+ player has obtained ALL the points for his team. This is incredibly frustrating, especially when countless req packs have been wasted to knock down 99% of the boss health. Especially when the tide of the game is on the line…
BOSS ASSIST!!! I for the life of me cannot tell you how many times I have pulled my Spartan laser out and knocked off nearly all the boss’s health single handedly and one teammate comes in last second and takes the points. GREAT we WIN! BUT!!! Now I’m still middle scoreboard AT BEST, meanwhile the lucky guy now leads the lobby. This in turn affects my req points (which I’m quite fond of).
The Balancing for Point #1 I’m sure may be alittle tricky!
BUT PLEASE!!! Don’t let all my HARD WORK… AND MANY MANY Req Packs go to waste by not even earning me the points for the boss I have fought!
I’m pretty sure this is a known issue but I thought I’d ask in my own words.
I agree something needs to be done about this. I know I have hammered on the Warden with a tank and the other team ends up getting the points. I think this is why I prefer the Assault mode.
Warzone as it is, isn’t all that fun for me. I would rather of gotten a new version of Firefight.
Kill stealing is Halo. It always has been and it always will be. Just because you perceive there to be more at stake with a boss kill than with a spartan kill doesn’t mean that the principle no longer applies.

I would be totally addicted to Firefight! Like I used to play Firefight on “Reach” as much as I used to play the Competitive part of the game!
As for the OP’s points,I think the 1st one is kinda easy to solve. Just make sure that the team who does the most damage to the boss is awarded the points. Of Course that wouldn’t be visible to the players and even if one team is late to arrive on the boss scene they could always hold the enemy team back from earning those points. The latter would almost never be the case as no one would be certain who’s caused how much damage.
This shouldn’t be too hard to do as i’m pretty sure there are already Damage meters implemented counting how much damage each player has caused. I can’t think of any major flaw in this thought,someone else maybe?
Solution above could actually help on your 2nd point too,no?

I actually used to play as much Firefight on “Halo Reach” as I would play the competitive part of the game. Would totally love a PvE only Online experience.

No kill stealing is not Halo when the enemy team can quite literally change the entire game with one burst of a BR! a Teammate kill stealing, maybe, but even still… This isn’t a few br rounds… this is dozens and dozens of reqs, or magazines… this is an entirely separate principle
