Boss fights in the next Halo

Do you want boss fights in the next Halo. I know we had the Didact in 4 but he wasn’t even really a boss fight. I’m not saying we should have 10 different complex bosses like in MGS or Legend of Zelda. I would like to see 3 maybe 4 boss fights, like we had in Halo 2.

The Enforcers were concidered Mini-Bosses…like the first Enforcer encounter in Halo 2. Tartarus was a boss fight in a way, but it felt “weird”. It really depends on how they pull it off and with who/what.

Boss Fights don’t work too well in Halo, the hammer wielding bullet sponge is sort of evidence of this, it was such a repetitive sequence, maybe something like the Brute Chieftain on The Ark on Halo 3 who challenges you to a 1v1 fight

Less than Tartarus and more challenging on Legendary, lasts a fair amount of time

Humanoid bosses don’t tend to work well, they feel too "gamey’.

The scarabs and enforcers were interesting fights cause they were big, noticeable, and made sense that they were tough.

I liked how the Heretic Leader wasn’t any tougher than norm, he just relied on holograms. He kind of scaled awkwardly on difficulties however.

Regret even count as a boss? Most difficulties you can just charge down the middle and win. I guess he wasn’t too bad on legendary.

Tartatus was a pretty dull fight and felt rather contrived. Good thing I05 had a convenient arena in its control room, unlike I04.

yes mini bosses like the sentinel enforcers brute chieftains and scarabs returning plus more bosses like the Guardian Sentinel Click here! but nothing that would include button mashing or quicktime sequences also if they added character boarding that would be pretty cool

I think the Forerunner Seeker/Forerunner Owl in Halo 5’s Teaser Trailer will be a boss fight. Something more similar to the Scarabs in Halo 3, but bigger and better.

I think we should fight and kill Jul 'Mdama in the Campaign of Halo 5.

Now I’m just going to say, of all the boss fights done in Halo so far, I think the Heretic Leader boss fight in Halo 2 was done the best.

Boss fights never worked with Halo , I would like an high written dialouge and stuff Shepard had with illusive man.

that was perfect i would like something like that with halo.

Mini Bosses worked well, real bosses however never worked for me in Halo 2.

However, if Mini Bosses can exist well, so can the big boss battles.

Boss fights in games like Halo are usually to annoying, especially if they are puzzle boss fights and not simple shoot them till they are dead ones.

If the bosses are something unique, don’t feel repeatitive and don’t have QTE sequences, I would like to have a boss battle. If it’s just something like Prophet from Halo 2 and Didact from Halo 4, then I don’t want them at all.

I would love to see something like Halo 3’s Scarab again, and I’m sure the new hardware could handle it well.

Do you see a fundamental problem with boss fights being in Halo games, or do you just not like any of the boss type fights we have been given in the games so far?

I personally would like to see some epic boss fights in future Halo games.

That’s true. Prophet was rather boring boss battle though because it was just about doing the same thing few times.

That’s because Chief can’t fight the Didact, Chief would die in an instant

I’m surprised at the results of this poll. The comments seem to be half for and half opposed, but the poll is highly in favor of boss fights

Then they should have made it a cut scene.

I don’t really see the problem with making that part a QTE, Chief would still die if he tried fighting the Didact in a cutscene

Humanoid boss fights really don’t work well in FPS’ maybe something like a Scarab but I’d say that’s it
