Boss Fights and Halo 6

Sup waypoint, I was playing Doom 2016 and I was enjoying the boss fights and was wondering if Halo 6 will have any bosses of it’s own. Halo 2 and 5 had them and the reception was mixed from what I hear(regret was fun, punching him in the face was hilarious). 3 questions
1. Would you add Boss fights too halo 6? I’m guessing Guardians will be like Scarab fights in Halo 3, or like metal gear. Maybe Atriox if we’re lucky

2. Would you change or add a bosses to any of the previous games? In CE had mini bosses which were fine for it’s gameplay. Halo 2 the Heretic fight could’ve been more interesting, Regret was fun, tartarus could’ve been better and more of a fight. Halo 3 had scarabs which made pretty epic battles, Halo 4 had the Didact should’ve been a boss fight no QTE bs, just pure the player trying to beat something out of their league. In halo 5 they missed out on Jul Van Damma being a good opening fight and -Yoink- the Warden. Plus Osiris vs Chief as a boss battle could’ve been cool

3. What’s your thought on Boss fights in the other Halo games? I like them, I think more FPS games should add boss fights too ramp up they gameplay. Even games set in more realistic settings could have them. Like WW2 games you have to fight off a tank or something like that.

I just hope there isn’t any more yoinking warden fights in H6. They need to off him in outside media. I think everyone is well over fighting him by now. But after H5 who knows what is in store for H6. I wouldn’t mind fighting a new type of scarab or maybe some sort of new Elite that takes the place of Jul… Would love to see Halo get away of fighting Prometheans all together as they are just not as fun to fight as the Covenant.

The prometheans are boring but I don’t think they’re leaving anytime soon. If we’re lucky they’ll off them in the beginning of Halo 6 someway.

Halo 6 might have some Banished boss fights. Imagine taking down the new scarab. That would be epic.

Boss fights mmmm I like that

Boss fights have never been Halo’s strong points. Honestly the best boss fights to me are the Scarabs and the Kraken. I think they should possibly stick to things like that. The Warden and Grunt Mech have just been boring bullet sponges. No creativity and really frustrating. The Grunt Mech is especially disappointing to me as someone who loves Mech related things. I’m not saying Tartarus was a gift from God or anything. It wasn’t great either. But at least it had some interesting mechanics. And don’t get me started on The Didact. That is if you even count that as a boss fight. What I’m getting at is that I would rather have no boss fights than really bad boss fights.

I think it would be fun if they could make the Mantis possibly go toe-to-toe with a Grunt Mech. A nice Mech Vs. Mech boss fight could be fun. If they did this in the campaign I think they should tone down some of the Grunt Mech’s screeching and “jokes”. I find the Grunts to be very funny little guys. But the Grunt Mech made me realize they get really annoying really fast when they’re that loud and have no pause between jokes.

It’d be weird, if you ask me. No obvious entry points, so I think you’d have to blast armor plates off before attempting to board it. Granted, it does make more sense than the Covenant’s version of the T-47B…

maybe somekind of bigger vehicles could be bosses much like scarabs have been. Something similar as in it should be mobile and big with good design. Then maybe some alien bosses, Tartarus level hp would be somewhat borderline. Definitely nothing like decimus or grunt goblins for its absolutely ridiculous that multiple tank shots cant kill what is basically infantry. Also no more wardens and preferably no prometheans. Maybe something more forerunner like. Something like enforcer in Halo 2.

As far as I’m concerned, Halo has never had a single, decent boss fight (and I’m not counting Scarab’s here, which I don’t consider as bosses). Each boss fight has had its unique problem that either makes it very tedious, or overly easy. A major problem with boss fights in Halo is especially the way difficulty settings are traditionally done, which is to make enemies more durable, and give them higher damage. This makes the bullet sponge boss fights on Legendary unbearably boring, or even frustrating if there are other enemies around shooting at the player.

So, I’d prefer if we never saw a single boss ever again. Not because I believe it’s impossible to design a boss well for Halo, but because history shows that the developers never seem to be able to get even close to that.

I think bosses could be guardians or large machines that we would have to take down in stages, they seem to work better for FPS than single people, who become more bullet spongey.
