Boss Fight???

Throw more enemies at me. Don’t put me against a damage sponge.

I remember fighting Tartarus… Still fun to fight a big bad guy.

It looks like the Warden Eternal will be a boss fight in the campaign (based on screenshots and the launch trailer).

I like that they didn’t do that to you in Halo 4, and Destiny just makes me shudder some times… (So many bullet sponges!)

Absolutely. As long as they aren’t purely scripted (343 Guilty Spark), a quick time event (Didact), a high ranked standard enemy or generic wave fights.

I appreciated Halo 2’s boss battles, even though they were somewhat unbalanced. Heretic Leader fight was guilty of being unable to comprehend easily. Often he couldn’t be damaged until he had said his dialogue. The holodrones were more of a grievance than a legitimate threat. he could end up stuck somewhere and the fight would softlock until you moved him. Regret was guilty of being unable to be damaged by conventional weaponry, much like 343 Guilty Spark, and he was only a threat because he had an endless supply of Covie infantry. And Tartarus could have been alright if his reinforcements had been less lethal and Johnson’s beam rifle wasn’t needed to bring down his shield.

Anyway, there’s a lot of things that can be explored via boss battles. Just gotta be creative.

Tartarus. A Scarab. Something big and bad that I can shoot at in a climactic situation.

Bosses in Warzone seem aggressive and OP most Youtubers don’t go near them unless their in a vehicle (Microsoft probably told them not to spoil campaign fights) but you can sometimes see name tags just disappear in the blink of an eye. So far they look like an epic challenge to me (Join The Iron Helms )

Boss fights have to be done right and I haven’t seen one in Halo that felt right since the Heretic Leader in Halo 2 (which was still somewhat bland and glitchy at times). So no not really. I’m okay with a single enemy who has much more health than the average enemy, like how Warden Eternal seems, more like a mini boss. But hopefully no Tartarus or Regret type boss fights. Scarab was a different kind of boss fight that worked well I guess.

Yes to boss fights
