Is anyone at 343 looking into or working on fixing the fact that you could 3/4s of the damage on a boss and be shooting it when it dies and not get credit?
It’s whoever gets the final shot, not how much damage you put into him.
What are you defining as credit? The medal you get, or progress on a commendation?
Yeah define credit. In order to to get the medal you have to inflict damage near the end of his health, but yeah it sucks you can knock three quarters of his life down and not get credit if your team takes him. If you weren’t involved at the end no credit. Also sadly the medal is awarded to every one th st inflicted damage at the end which confuses most because only the player who got the actual kill shot will get credit. They were to lazy to make a boss assist medal for some reason.
It would be nice to get some credit but I think 343 is working on more pressing problems.
I’m just talking about how I’m firefight you can one of 3 people shooting a boss when it die and and sometimes it doesn’t give you any points for it.

Yeah, it does suck when there’s a boss and I take it down to critical health, die, and then a few seconds later some random guy comes up with a pistol and shoots it once and guess who doesn’t get the credit?
Or when I’m shooting at a knight with an SMG for twenty seconds, it dies, and not so much as an assist.
I still think that the boss credit system should give you points as you damage it. So if the boss is worth 150 points then you may get 10 points for doing a certain amount of damage rather then hoping you get the final shot in.
Considering the objective is to defeat the boss, credit should go to whoever killed the boss.
Of course, the last shot mechanic itself is broken, which makes it worse.
This annoys me so much in WZFF. Like, you’ll call in some powerful/rare REQ and get a boss down to a sliver of health, only to die and have some rando get full credit. I hate the fact that it’s seemingly time based, rather than purely damage based, so if someone kills the boss you’ve been filling with lead for the past 2 minutes a few seconds after you die, you get credit, but any longer and you miss out. I get why it’s that way for standard WZ, but it just doesn’t make sense for WZFF.
