Boring.

I just finished the campaign… I LOVE halo games. soooo very very much, but I had a few major problems with this ones campaign… while production values where noticeably amped up, the AI for the new enemies is very very lack luster.

I started off the campaign on normal because I wanted to enjoy the story. the combat started putting me to sleep so I upped it to heroic. I finished the rest on heroic… and man, the encounters are very bland. the knights just stand there waiting to be shot. once shot, they begin to move around just to hide. (hardly returning fire) I am not trying to complain. I love the multiplayer in this game… but it seems that creativity is not 343s strong suit when it comes to AI. the watchers/crawlers/knights get old very fast and offer very little threat compared to previous games heroic difficulty.

I will be trying to legendary just to see.

#2 on my list… cortana is a whiney baby! i just wish she would have talked less due to the fact that she is apologizing and wigging out half the game… I want to see into chiefs head a little more… but this was too much. he seemed like an emotional wimp. the the ending seemed like it was just tacked on. fly this thing… push this button.

Dude at the endwith chief and cortana was the saddest thing ever, I will give that the game felt pretty ez but as far as the story the entire time it just pulled at my heart strings.

when i look back and read what i said i looks a little harsh. I guess it’s due to lack of proper wording to express my thoughts.

the characters repeated the same worries time after time after time. “I didn’t mean to… I uh…” “it’s okay cortana” “NO IT’S NOT OKAY!” times that by 15.

I’m glad the character model for MC looks like 100x better… but I really don’t need to see his hand press another button.
for one it just reminds me that i’m pressing a bunch of buttons and inserting my Cortana chip 1000 times…
second… it makes me aware of the fact that the objectives in this game are all achieved the same uncreative way.

THE flying missions were LAME! i wanted to feel like a boss in that pelican. only fighting 8 phantoms that can’t hardly shoot.
that is not how i wanted my first pelican flight to be.

Lack of creative writing/storyboarding as well as weak AI programming. even the elites aren’t half of what they used to be.
the knights (when lacking the watchers) just act as mindless bullet sponges that hide what their shields pop.

I hope they wake up when I play on legendary.

I don’t like the new Cortana, she’s become an emotionally sensitive girl instead of the strong, often sarcastic and witty, woman we knew
And I agree about the whole “fly here and push this button” thing. The whole campaign felt like “go here activate this/deactivate that”. And the portals felt really cheap, just a way to move the story on quicker “Look! A Portal! Jump through it! Oh, now we’re at the centre of Requiem! Another! See where it goes! Hey, it’s a Mammoth!” This isn’t Portal 2 :frowning:
I didn’t like alot of the new characters either they were all really forgettable and poorly thought out, especially Captain Del Rio

I could go on myself but I don’t want to complain too much. For me the campaign was a big disappointment, really short and forgettable, it lacked the epicness of previous halo games :frowning:

Having said that the multiplayer is amazing! :smiley:
