So recently they announced that the Halo 5 launch playlists will be two warzone varients, slayer, team arena, breakout, FFA, and swat. All of these combined only add up to 14 maps (not including forged maps, because 343i said those didn’t count towards the 21 maps we were supposedly getting at launch. So 14 maps, and no interesting gametypes (except possibly on the weekends?) like infection, race, action sack, grifball, etc…
I am so extremely disappointed right now. If you add the 7 forge maps (not actual maps) they add up to 21. This was straight up lying from 343i and not only this, but we get the most boring launch playlists I’ve ever witnessed. We won’t even have btb until some post-launch update. I swear, if we don’t at least have these gametypes like infection and race available in custom games, the halo 5 community will die faster than halo 4’s.
P.S. I do love Halo 5, I think it’s a fun game and I’m definitely still getting it, I’m just really worried about it having a bad launch without forge, interesting gametypes, and no btb.
P.P.S. The warzone and campaign teams have both done a fantastic job, no complaints there!

Tell me, when the population plummets through the floor, again, what will we blame it on this time? I mean I couldn’t blame people for leaving because 343 doesn’t want them to play the gametypes they enjoy.
Because last time it was all 343’s fault, but this time I guess they can do no wrong, so my be people just don’t like halo anymore?
Halo 5’s lack of community features is disgusting… It’s a true Shame. This game will die faster than any other Halo game imo. There’s a lot missing ! Honestly I knew the map count was misleading weeks ago. The fact they count empire and Eden as 2 different maps is odd. They are almost identical lol. Then every map list I came across included forge maps.

Looks like 21 to me. Did they say 21 arena maps at launch? No and I have yet to see any source that said forge maps wouldn’t count. I’m confused where people believe they were mislead.

Frankly if Warzone doesn’t turn out well and it flops I’ll be going back to older Halo’s again.

I hope it does, but I’m not getting my hopes up very high. Don’t get me wrong, I’m hyped to hell for the campaign but I’m worried about the MP. We don’t have a firefight or PvE mode, no Forge at release, custom games are going to be fairly limited. I don’t play Halo competitively, I have a CoD team for that so I’m not going to be going into Arena and that leaves me and my friends with Warzone, Campaign and limited custom games for two months. I’m not trying to come off as arrogant or anything, just stating that I do have some concerns for the game.
Either way this game is just a game its eventually going to be played out and other games will take its place by that I mean short term not long term. I usually play my Halo games until the populations dies/already a year into the next Halo.

Boring? what part of 12v12, biggest games of Halo history, with AI bosses blasting in is boring? Warzone is gonna be plenty exciting and it needs time to breathe. So btb needs to hold its horses. People are too stubborn because if they weren’t, they would try out warzone without being made to. But they won’t so they have to hold off btb. And if you like competitive stuff, then Arena is for you, fast paced action and close matches, or ones where you dominate, or get dominated. Now I will say I don’t like swat at all but other than that, the playlists are pretty great to me. It sounds like you want some more of the less shooter aspect playlists. If you get more fun out of Halo not for the competitiveness but out of the more goofy casual things in it, I totally respect that (Sorry if the wording was bad there but I just woke up a bit ago). But don’t say the playlists are boring. There may not be a random funny playlists to just mess around in but warzone has that casual aspect in it with crazy weapons and arena is competitive. Try some of them out or just play custom games or something. You will get your crazy playlists soon. (I am ready for some action sack)

Thank you, this is what I’ve been trying to say, everyone’s like I’ll still have fun, that’s not the point. The point is Halo will not have any longevity if they force people to wait months for features they like. Halo may have been able to get away with this back in the Halo 2 or 3 days but not now. Why do so many people have faith in a team that has a horrible track record?

Koth, oddball, extraction, one flag, doubles, snipers, ricochet, assault are not silly gametypes, some of these are in e sport competitions. There is much more missing than just social playlists like infection, griffball, and race.
I find it funny how Black Ops 3 will have ‘bonus custom playlists’ in matchmaking and allow people to make and share custom gametypes but you can’t in Halo MCC/5,
Warzone is basically BTB, you can’t release a new product and include something that is basically the exact same thing. You’ll seperate your community too much causing more problems.
I am happy with the small selection and it will be better for the community in the end to keep it simplified. Smaller choices for games means you are more likely to play the same gameype over and over again to create a better “RATING” for yourself.
Warzone (I’ll play when more then 3 friends online)
TS (can play solo or with friends)
Arena (this is where this game will shine… I HOPE)
Breakout (this was just fun all around)
Swat (LOL, what a joke, they added this?)

I just don’t see the point of complaining. Just take what you get or go find a different game.
