Borderlands style halo game?

I was thinking it could be cool if there was a borderlands/ diablo/ destiny style halo game. Like, maybe it could be open world like borderlands (And ODST) and have that shoot n’ loot gameplay. It could have all of the enemies if halo, and maybe some class system that you can upgrade as you level up. It could have the halo 5 weapon variants randomly dropped with different levels of rarity. As you progress through the game you unlock new weapons, abilities, and vehicles. It could also be coop/online.

I know it sounds unoriginal, but I love borderlands and halo and I think it’d be cool if the two could combine.

You know… Halo Infinite may be shaping up to be something to that effect. RPG elements, possible live service aspects. Here’s to hopin’

This may be a cool alternative version of an Halo game but i would definitely make it with its own heroes like a fire team or something from which you can choose 1 character.
They could make all types of quests for example intel gathering from which the player can learn all about the Halo Universe or something like rebel attacks since after the main covenant war after Halo 3 and before Halo 4 there where many human colonies that were taken over by rebels and had to be retaken as shown in the book series (e.g Halo:New Blood).

Like Specter Lives was saying, that seems to be the direction Infinite is going. Depending on how its done I’d be all for it!
Don’t make it a huge grind-fest, make each different weapon have varying stats (instead of a uncreative power level system), and make the various certain armor have lore friendly perks or add-ons. Meanwhile, keep micro-transactions (cause they are most definitely coming) reserved to cosmetics only.

I’d love that as a spin off. Speaking of Borderlands, did you know that Gearbox was considered by MS to take over Halo before deciding on 343i? Maybe we would’ve gotten some of those BL mechanics put into Halo if that had happened, who knows.

Hello,

As long it’s not filled with DLC or exclusive skins like Borderlands, I’m all for it.

Later!
