Why in the world would you allow someone to boot another player for them running into an already blown up forerunner grenade???..i threw one at an opponent player and killed him only to have a teammate run through the field seconds after he had just hopped up onto the level i was on.
why should i be punished for my dumb teammate’s mistake? I didnt throw when he was around or anything. He just simply ran through the field because he didnt notice it
The game only registers that you threw the grenade and a team mate died as a result. It’s not a context-sensitive process.

You have to consider that the game is going to kick team killers. While your particular situation is frustrating, it is better than the alternative of allowing people to kill teammates unpunished.
I agree, although I never got booted because of this, but I have thrown some and my teammate ran into it causing a betrayal. That should be a suicide before a betrayal, but then again there could be that -Yoink- who just throws them to “troll” people and just ruin the game.
