Booting teammates

Old games used to let you choose to boot a player after two betrayals or Would you prefer to have friendly fire remain off? If so just choose no in the poll options! Thanks

after 4-5 minutes the game is to far gone to make up for the many free kills already given to your opponent because of an inactive player.

I do agree that other things far more important can occur while playing a match. That’s why you leave matchmaking when they do. That will allow you much more time to take that call, answer the door, or clean up that messy spill without getting in a hurry just so you can make it back to play a game!

plus if you are kicked after 60 seconds of inactivity then it will only rank down your Spartan! Giving your team a chance to pull off a 3 vs 4 upset! After all why should the whole team suffer because one person accidentally has a spill😉

It should be a voting option for the whole team to decide. After 1/2 betrayals it sends a message on the side of the screen asking for a vote.

60 seconds is too fast in my opinion. Maybe 4-5 mins and then a good kick, but in one minute, anything can happen. Clean up a spill, answer a door, answer a call, send a text, etc. Not everyone’s main focus is the game. Not everyone’s that competitive.

After 2 betrayals is way better, I’ve accidentally killed a person in 4 while attacking an enemy tank and a teammate was in the middle of an attempted high jack. But the game decided to give him the option to kick me and he did, for an accident, after my first betrayal of the entire match. I also don’t agree with afk bans, like if someone who has parents who don’t like gaming, who don’t give a -Yoink- about what your doing and tell you to take out the trash and you have to go for a bit, it would suck to be kicked form your match because you had life to deal with.

I say a player should be booted after two betrayals. But I also think that this wouldn’t be an issue if we didn’t have friendly fire on by default in matchmaking.

I agree with afk booting and 2 betrayal booting. But i feel that if a 2nd betrayal happens the option should pop up.

All betrayls should have a manditory kill cam on betrayal number 2. This is so there is no doubt if it was an accident or on purpose. This and a final kill are the only kill cams id care to see.

As for afk booting if your not there for the game then you might as well not be in it.

The day that parents understand that you can’y pause an online game will be the day

It shouldn’t be based off the number of betrayals, but the way the player is betrayed.

For example, if a player with the sniper gets betrayed for the sniper, the option should come up immediately. There are many factors that could go into determining this. Is the offending player purposely putting multiple shots into his opponent? Are there enemies in the vicinity? There are things that could be easily determined to know if the player is purposefully betray a team mate.

On the opposite end… did the player who was betrayed put himself in harms way? I can’t count how many times I’ve had players jump in front of a vehicle to try and get me to run them over and betray them so they could boot me. Was he hijacking a vehicle and then his teammate blew up the vehicle?

I think there would be a much better system than the old systems to put in place. Just like Ranking Systems. the 1-50 ranking system was fun, but it had it’s flaws. There is now a ladder system which is better. It’s still a Ranking System and it could still be useful, but it’s better than the last. So a new Betrayal Booting system should be in place. One that is better and can actually identify the most common betrayals that occur in the game. No system is perfect, but it would be a start.

So much has changed from Halo already that if FF was removed, I wouldn’t be surprised, but I feel there should always be friendly fire in team competition. Look at Soccer. Own goals happen. They don’t just say, “Oh, that was a mistake. That doesn’t count.” There should be room for accidents in the game and a penalty for such things. Like suicides should be a -1 on the scoreboard.

Agreed in principle, but in soccer, at any level of competition, do you ever have a bunch of miscreant children running around the pitch purposefully flaunting the rules and the spirit of the game in order to pursue their own personal agenda of anti-social behavior and self-absorption? You certainly do in Halo…

This, i’m tired of slightly grazing team mates by accident with a ghost and getting kicked.

It should be a team wide decision to boot a player. If it only happened to you then it was likely an accident, if it happens more then once to you or a second person then it should be a team vote

60 seconds is way too fast. Most other games have an average auto boot of AFC players in about 3 minutes.

There should just be no friendly fire, I know there wasn’t in the beta hopefully there isn’t in the full game.

Actually yes. I have seen people who will go take the ball from their team mates, then proceed to dribble it all over the field and never pass because they think they are better than everyone else. The same thing happens in Basketball. One guy will dribble around everyone and shoot the ball. Then they cry when they lose saying he isn’t getting any help from his team. These people never get picked up once people see how they play, so they get to play alone. The same crap happens in all competitive areas where there are teams. Running Backs and Wide Receivers complain when the ball doesn’t come their way.

That’s what happens in Halo. People play on teams because teams are better than solo players and if someone is running around betraying and being a little d-bag, they will always play alone and they will ruin the fun for everyone else also.

So yes, there are a bunch of miscreant children running around the pitch purposefully flaunting the rules and the spirit of the game in order to pursue their own personal agenda of anti-social behavior and self-absorption in every team sport. However the biggest offenders will often times not be known, because no one wants to play with those people and those people fade into the background and never get anywhere.

You can’t betray ppl in H5, FF is turned off and 343i would most likely never remove it unless it’s a classic playlist or HCS.

Forgive my ignorance, never having played organized sports at any level, but aren’t there coaches of one type or another, at least in organized sports, to keep the worst of this kind of thing from getting out of hand? There are no coaches or refs in Halo. The experience I do have is of FF making Halo a more than occasional hell, up until H4 which has no FF. Less realistic? Yup, I gotta give you that one. But I’d say the trade off is more than worth it for the trouble it avoids.

How do I see how many people voted? Does it show when the poll closes?
