You guys need to remove betrayal booting in Grifball. I’m tired of being booted for accidentally betraying someone when trying to keep some guy out of my goal. That is a stupid mechanic to have in a game with AOE weapons players dog piling on one objective.
yeah it does. Haven’t played Grifball in a long time. Too scared to get booted
That means that hypothetically, I can run around and purposely kill my teammates without fear of being booted, right?

yeah it does. but it doesn’t matter cause people keep getting kicked then banned for accidental betrayals
I don’t like Grifball really but this is true. This should be a thing where you can’t get “banned” from social playlists and you can’t get kicked from GB just because you tried to kill someone (but instead killed your teammate)

Didn’t stop it from being removed from 3, Reach or 4.
No, people will purposely start betraying when you’re 3 or 4 nil down just to finish the game.
They’ll also purposely betray just to take the bomb off you sometimes.
I play a lot of Grifball and never get more than 1 or 2 betrayals per game because I’m careful.
If you betray enough so that the option to boot appears you’re not being careful.
Turning off friendly fire would be the best option imo.
Or at least turn the friendly fire down to around 50/25% so you can’t one hit a team mate
Betrayal booting needs to go. I’m not sure if adding it back in was simply a mistake they’ve had to remedy yet. Either way it needs to be gone.
Grifball is different to all the other gametypes in Halo as betraying is built stronger into its DNA. Where as betrayals are rare in other gametypes, in a hammer heavy Grifball they are common, and learning to be more aware and more considerate of where your teammates are is a skill that’s developed through practice and experience (and just common sense, to be honest).
I know griefers are awful, those who purposely betray, and I’d love for them all to be gone but sadly betrayal booting is not an option. I know it puts lots of people off playing the gametype altogether (I am an example of this) and it simply interferes with Grifball’s core gameplay. This is also why options like lowering or turning off friendly fire altogether don’t work, they’re interfering with Grifball’s core mechanics. The hammer is supposed to have a risk and reward element, learning when to swing and when not to swing. No friendly fire and there is no reason to ever stop swinging if your teammates won’t die as a result. However at the same time players who do make those mistakes and betray teammates as a result should not be booted or banned, it’s a natural part of Grifball and has been for eight/nine years now.
There is no place for betrayal booting in Grifball.
That’s why I only use the energy sword when playing grift ball, had a time where it turned into a 2v4 match because my 1 remaining team mate booted the others.
I agreed with this until I versed multiple times a complete troll who continuously tried to kill me. Just get rid of team damage and add a larger cool down on the hammer.
For me and grifball has been a much better experience since the MoR update. It plays a lot better, I don’t get booted as much, and there is a lot less lag. I hit a couple of games with a 3-4 betrayals on me and not booted. I really try to watch where I swing too, however it happens in grifball. I know there is an article with Bravo stating there was some changes to grifball and that’s why they hadn’t pulled it yet off of the playlist. I hope they never do either it’s finally enjoyable.
I got booted because a teammate walked in front of me while I was swinging the hammer. I already betrayed him once by accident, and then it happened again. I got booted. The betrayal booting needs to go.
Keep it in. Some of my teammates are absolutely terrible. After a 3rd betrayal and awful plays, I am happy to have them replaced.
