Boot option inconsistent!!!!

Why?
Whenever I get run over by a vehcile or blown up by a teammate’s bad grenade/rocket placement, why do I never get a boot option?

I literally can’t remember the last time I had a boot option in Halo4!

But today, I accidentally betrayed a teammate in Dominion with a rocket (didn’t think it was close enough to kill him…), took three of the enemy team along with him, but he gets a boot option and boots me from the game? Just to show how stupid he was, my team lost the game without me (friend I was playing with stayed in the game)

But why is it so inconsistent? Isn’t there supposed to be a system to idetify accidental betrayals? Because mine wasn’t intentional, just accidental, yet I got booted…

I agree it’s so messed up. I literally have never even received the option. Ever. Part of the reason I don’t play much

I was driving a friend around in the rocket hog on exile & going round a corner I hit a crouched camo’d teammate, he boots me & said friend in the hog gets blown up.
I get JiP into the same game & myself & friend are laughing about me getting back in the game, when the guy who booted me came on the mic saying watch this & then mowed me down with a ghost!
Did I get an option to boot him? ? NOOOO
When it was clear we was going to lose I did blow him up on purpose with a R/L & he managed to boot me again wtf

I always have to betray someone 3 times before I get booted. But I always get the option to boot after 1 betrayal.

It’s nice.

Honestly, that’s not a good reason to not play a game that much.

Also OP, I feel ya. I feel that the betrayal system should be updated, because I’m betrayed all the time, and multiple times a game, and then when I finally get sick of it I betray them back, and the 1st time I do it, I get booted. I can only take so much betraying lol

But in all seriousness, I really don’t like the betrayal system too much. It needs to be more strict.

The option only appears with me when me and another teammate are killed by another fellow teammate.
That and when a guy is going on a betrayal spree.

Of all the games I’ve played in Halo 4, I’ve literally only seen ONE boot option come up for me when I was betrayed. ONE!!!

Its much better than it was in Halo reach. I got booted in that game every single time for an accidental betrayal. Don’t think it has happened once in Halo 4

i think you need to re-read what i wrote.

Wish I had that luck… Not that I’d betray people three times though

Learn a little control people… If someone betrays you make it your mission to troll them for the rest of the match. Make it your goal to keep their shields busted at all times. The other team, or your team mates, will take care of the rest & you won’t get booted. Odds are you won’t win the match but rating them & leaving the lobby will take care of your problems without giving you a betrayal on your record.

this problem is consistent in all halos. the system for enabling a boot attempts to discern a player’s “intent” before doling out the big ol’ “boot player?” screen. this system is far from perfect, and from what i understand is easy to exploit simply by, for example, killing a player recently in combat, or by having your reticule red before you stick an ally by “mistake” (these examples used for citation). vehicle splatters also tend to be a bit fickle, too. you can ram through five enemies and then get booted when one genius decides to jump in front of your ghost/hog/whatever. it happens. just use the boot option with discretion. think: did they MEAN to betray me? did i get to close to that 'nade perhaps? was it really necessary to jump in front of the binary rifle user just to block his red line? determine whether or not you were the idiot before you boot.

I think the big problem is that most halo players are -Yoinks!-. I never boot someone when i know it was a mistake yet I get booted even tho they knew it was a mistake.

it goes down to the jackassery of the player in question. some players just like to feed fuel to the JIPfire

Exactly, in Reach if it was an accidental betrayal, sure they could stay (as long as it didn’t happen again), but if intentional then they got booted!
