Im fed up with going into grifball and being betrayed time after time just for the fun of it by my fellow seemingly halo handicapped teammates. I’m not saying being betrayed on accident is bad but if im betrayed more than twice by the same player, I want justice to be served. Plz comment and tell me if this is too much to ask.
It would be way too much, people betray on accident a lot. If Betrayal-booting was in Grifball then no one would be able to finish a match.

Well, they dealt with the same issue in Living Dead by out right turning off friendly fire. Would be nice to see that carry into Grifball to help with the betrayal problems as well.
Turning off friendly fire is the best possible solution. It took almost a whole year (why it did is beyond me since it’s just simple toggle that doesn’t take more than a couple seconds to tweak) for Living dead to finally turn off FF, Boostball/hostball is rampant betrayals, it’s why i stay away from it.

Turning it off is the worst possible solution, ever. The Grav Hammer is a melee weapon with a wide a.o.e. and everyone is rushing around a small map trying to stop the other team from advancing and holding them at bay so your team can score the bomb. Grifball is also one of the more high adrennaline gametypes because of that, so not everyone is always aware of who’s around them. They’re just looking at the opposite color and thinking, “Oh smashy-smash.” On average, 9/10 times a betrayal in Grifball is accidental. Now Living Dead on the other hand is a different story. In LD you start out, if you’re a human, with ranged projectile weapons that mostly everyone camps with. Which in turn should give a player an extra second or two to assess the situation before making a move. i.e. determining friend from foe. And I’d say on average, 2 maybe 3 out of 10 times a betrayal in LD is accidental. Plus anyone and everyone who plays and has played Grifball, has betrayed at least once on accident. Watch, if 343 were to ever turn friendly fire off, all you who are crying about it now, would be crying to them to turn it back on.
Betrayals are just a part of Grifball, take it from a former league player. My advice, make sure you’re last when charging the ball.
I would think it would be a great idea for 343 to run a test on multiplayer without friendly fire. 343 could simply make a playlist where the friendly fire is off for 1 month. At the end of the month, check the comparisons. There seems to be a growing number of players that can’t figure out how to play team games. It never hurts to try it.
Here’s an idea - NO Friendly Fire, Or Hammer/Sword/Oddball as it were. Can I get a Wort!Wort!Wort!
Best solution: stop playing moronic gametypes.

That MORONIC gametype is basicly one of the funnest typse since Halo 3 in which ALOT of people play actually <_<

Grifball can be fun once a month. Those who play Hostball/Boostball on a daily basis don’t even know what a real Halo game is. I’m not even surprised it has such a wide population, though. Reach catered to the casuals, thus the most played playlists are grifball and infection. GJ Bungie.

Lets see…you start out 4 on 4, then you get betrayed more than twice, and ‘boot player’…OK, now 4 on 3…and you are more readily spawn trapped…What’s next…you quit because you’re getting killed 60-80 times in a round???
OH…Then you come on here and complain about that…
NO. Bad Idea!! Play with friends, in a full party if you can, and then it won’t happen nearly as much as to what you are experiencing as going in randomly.
Turning friendly fire off in Hostball will only make people complain that people are now launching the ball carrier over their heads to the score pad without being able to touch him and them crying how it’s “cheap”.
We need betrayals in Grifball. How else would Sarge be able to kill Grif with a giant hammer if they are both on the red team?

^^This.
Don’t play solo.

It would be difficult to detect if a betrayal was accidental or not in grifball, and it doesn’t seem like we’ll get a solution for reach, maybe they’ll think of something for halo 4, the only solution would be turning off friendly fire, and that would just cause mass mindless hammer spamming, the good thing about friendly fire in grifball is you have to be aware of your surroundings. If someone betrays you constantly just do what I do: “avoid player, unsporting conduct”. You will be much less likely to pair up with them again.

LOL the player rep system and avoiding players does not work. It’s sadly, a broken system.
I think we experienced this before when Halo 3 Grifball was ranked for the weekend. and honestly I hated it. Grifball is one of those games that I have no interest of playing Grifball since in my opinion EVERYTHING relies on connection.
You can’t boot players for betrayals in Grifball.
As already stated, A game would never be finished.
This happens alot. It’s just one of those things.
