Book recommended cronology

So I literally a few seconds ago was about to buy Halo New Blood since I think Halo ODST is the best Halo game ever created and have a overly manly -Yoink!- whenever i see/hear Rookie(then I cry because I know his fate).

I stopped because I would like you guys to tell me what Halo books are worth reading before I get to New Blood?

Well, it is always a good idea to go Fall of Reach > First Strike > Ghosts of Onyx, but no book has strong connections to New Blood…

New Blood is kind of a primer for Halo 5 as it sets up Buck in Osiris, so there aren’t really any books that have anything to do with it.
