Boltshot ruined this game.

I can’t stand this weapon, it breaks game’s flow and entire experience for me, 343 even add a 200 kill challenge with secondary weapon and everybody is camping with that noob canon… it breaks map, balance way way WAY more than sawed off in Gears of War 3. Getting deaths from boltshot campers all the time is frustrating.

Sometimes i think Halo Reach is way better game, even with DMR bloom…

So if you know everyone has a boltshot then stop following them around corners when you see their red dot stop and wait for you. Or better yet pull out your boltshot and kill them first. Or just give up and go back to double-pummeling everyone in Reach…

I’m sorry but no; the boltshot is overused, overpowered, ruins map movement, and should be nerfed as a result. If not removed from the custom class options entirely.

I’m getting a little sick of Halo: Boltshots and would really like to play Halo 4 again.

Why are people using the boltshot for the challenge instead of playing SWAT and getting 15 kills a game with the pistol? Anyways, in slayer it’s not that OP, but in objective games where you need to be close to people it’s really OP. Everyone pretty much has a shotgun.

Their are at least half a dozen other things more detrimental to the flow of this game.

Should be a map spawn weapon.

While the Boltshot is unbalanced in CQC, it’s not hard to pull out your DMR from 10 feet away and kill them.

No, Ordinance, unbalanced weapons, no weapons on map, crappy maps, terrible custom options, and tons of broken mechanics ruined a lot of the multiplayer experience of this game.

I can live with the boltshot and DMRs if they were map pick ups however.

Or seeing as how they aren’t getting rid of ordnance drops, make it pop up in those. If you do that then you don’t have to nerf it, but removing it from the loadouts means moving around other stuff like loadout challenges and what not.

Point is, leave it in the loadouts but nerf it, and nerf it a lot.

You’re just acting ignorant or you really don’t know that crouched guys aren’t visible on sensor…?

So if you’re playing against guys that only sit around corners and use the boltshot then

  1. stop running around the same corners
  2. stop rushing period
  3. use hologram to get them to waste their boltshot then charge around the corner and kill them
    4.use PV if they don’t have stealth on
  4. use jet pack and jet pack around corners so you fly over where they expect you to be and they waste their boltshot
  5. throw grenades and look for hitmarkers to give away campers
  6. run around corners with your boltshot and shoot them first.

Because in every other game the most used weapon wasn’t an all-around perfect weapon for all ranges. The DMR needs to have its bullet magnetism toned down and maybe even have the bloom effect restored, have something that stops people from spamming the trigger.

The lack of a 1-50 is a detriment to this game, not the boltshot. Simply taking it out of loadouts would fix the problem.

Again, if everyone uses the same weapon then it’s not about the weapon attributes, it’s all about the players using it. And I believe the MLG Reach playlist eventually turned off bloom so everyone could just spam the trigger. (If anyone here happens to believe MLG is the competitive standard…)

I personally only use it when I’m backed into a corner, in one of those “do or die” moments.

Or if the other team is spamming it and I need to even the playing field.

Why do people have this attitude towards MLG settings?
No bloom, for example, is not a negative. A ZB DMR warrants more skill than a bloom DMR, because it eliminates randomness from the situation.
MLG pushes for you to be on a coordinated team to win.
Learning the maps helps greatly (but this goes for any playlist).
The maps are normally symmetrical, meaning neither team has an advantage.
Everyone starts with the same items. Again, neither team has an advantage over the other.
