I’ve noticed, as many others have guaranteed, the Boltshot is LOOOOONG overdue for an extreme nerf. In Halo 4, that thing was an o.p. shotgun basically, and now it has tracking rounds? That’s just too much now. Don’t get me wrong, I love Halo 5, and look forward to continuing in competitive gameplay, but this gun needs to be killed. The fact that you can be outgunning someone with a Magnum or BR just to have them 2-3 shot you with a Boltshot is stupid. Let’s focus on the competitive play like this game was designed to be.

A bolt shot perfect is quicker than a pistol perfect. The draw back is the lack of range. Not sure for bs vs br.
Its not OP the travel time for the rounds is so long they are easy to dodge, the open hand is OP since its a three shot but its warzone so balance goes out the window.
Magnum > boltshot
If you thrust properly you can dodge, and its really only useful at close range. Its kind of like how the Shotgun is OP in its optimal range, learn to play smart and defeat it.
If you’re quick you can easily kill them with any other weapon and thrust out of the last few tracking shots before they get to you. I do it all the time.

BR out-ranges it because of its scope. The tracking bolts only work at a certain range.

The only difference tracking shots make is longer ttk. Hitscan (most human weapons) operate on the same basis. Guaranteed hit when the reticle is red.
Hitscan is far better than tracking, you can dodge projectiles that are making their way to you by ducking around a sharp corner. You can’t dodge Hitscan weapons.

When I was working on the commendation I got decent with the boltshot but after I finished I quit using it. In arena, in some situations its a beast but you have to set yourself up to have success with it. Taking a chance if you run and gun with it like you do the magnum/br. Can’t be smg close or br far. Too much trouble.

But, it definitely is. You get the higher tier ones and they definitely are.
you are going to beat a pistol 90% of the time with the bolt shot because strafing doesn’t make the bolt shot miss.

If you’re talking about Warzone, then yeah, there is no weapon balance.

Except it tracks you around corners. Just like the hydra launcher. Stupid scrub weapons that need nerfed bad.
To be honest i hate EVERY weapon that has bullet tracking… no skill whatsoever
Also the needler
Just scale up the firerate of the needler and get rid of the tracking -Yoink- on all of the guns

Both weapons that are only applicable in specific areas/ranges…
Over-Powered means that these weapons dominate in most scenarios, which they don’t. Bolt shot is only usable at close-mid range and even these still can easily be beat by standard weapons. Hydra requires a lock on (is useless without lock) and requires a clear trajectory (can’t navigate obstacles), can’t be used at close range, and is easily dodge at long range.
Again, if anyone is referring to weapon use in Warzone, there is no balance in Warzone, almost everything is a power weapon.
Has anyone ever gotten a killing spree with the boltshot? Probably not ever, my point is that its not OP even slightly. You can kill 2 or 3 opponents max if you’re incredibly lucky and by then your shields are so low you’re a dead man.
