I have a question regarding the Boltshot, was it buffed again b/c i was playin’ recently and that weapon killed me like the Mauler?
Was it ever nerfed beyond the range reduction?

Damn…no wonder. I hope to god 343 does not add that sidearm in the next title. Its starting to get really annoying, lol.
The range reduction only decreased the one hit kill range of the boltshot. The problem is that the weapon still reduces your shields almost to zero at the ridiculous range that used to kill in one hit.
They went wrong by not giving it spread or making the damage decrease the farther away the boltshot user is from the target.

Ok, b/c I was playin’ Adrift and the opposing team, were just one-hit kill with the Boltshot and i was at full shields.

Lol, adrift. Hologram+stealth+boltshot=easy mode on Adrift
It’s always been OP… But yes, I too felt people were killing me a little too well.
I find matchmaking a little too inconsistent, some days I can easily clear house with the DMR and others it’s like it has no aim assist whatsoever.
And there are some times the Scattershot can kill with ease and others I have to unload 3 shots into a guy 5 feet away.
I would like to add that i made a mistake when stating that i felt like the damage should increase as range increases. I obviously meant decrease sorry.
I’m currently doing the commendation for this having not touched it since the game was released.
playing regicede I thought using an automatic to break shields and then finish with the boltshot would be the best tactic to grind the commendation.
it works but after realising the fact it is so OP I only use the weapon as my primary now with better results. the thing is a beast and I feel sorry for all the other players I maim with it. its like a pocket shotgun

Are you guys considering decreasing the Boltshot’s range or damage in any future weapon tuning updates or on June 3?
Probably not. I dont really have a problem with the boltshot anymore. Just gotta not chase around corners.
I think that giving a player access to a one hit kill weapon off the spawn is completely ridiculous, and on this note I also don’t think that players should be allowed to spawn with plasma grenades either, just do the fact that its an instant kill, and they can completely decimate vehicles; don’t vehicle users have enough to deal with sense there are already so many power weapons in IBTB.
Played Infinity Slayer today. Called in overshield, confronted an opponent corner camping with Botlshot and I was taken down in one shot plus a beatdown. Terrible weapon.

Thanks for the info…I was wonderin’ cuz it was strange that I was getting killed even with Full Shields just from that weapon.

Adrift is just a terrible map, period. Especially in Infinity Slayer.

That’s likely just perception, except the Scattershot, which is rather random in it’s spread.
If you’re going to take away the one hit kill weapon to spawn then they should remove the DMR/carbine/LR/BR from spawn as well. Take away everybody’s sniper rifle, give them their choice of auto weapon and a pistol/plasma pistol. Spawning with a DMR can be every bit as broken as spawning with a bolt shot
(I forget who called it a mauler (from perfect dark I’m assuming) but every other time I’m talking about it I nearly do the same thing lol).
the boltshot was fine the way it was, it needed no nerf. it just simply shouldn’t be a loudout weapon, along with plasma pistol and plasma grenades. simple as that
