In reference to the subject title, does anyone feel the same… like in game, the DMR isn’t a HUGE deal as some people want it to be? The Boltshot is way worse and more annoying than the DMR, but I rarely see people post about it. I’ve killed many DMR users with the BR, and I think the balancing is not horrible. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for the BR and I love the weapon, but the DMR doesn’t seem super OP. Yes, a tweak here and there would be nice, but the DMR isn’t ruining the game like some people claim. One weapon that I do think is very OP is the BOLTSHOT. It’s annoying just to think about it. Why is the DMR getting so much attention when the Boltshot is beating shotgun and sword users?
Boltshots fine, u have to charge it up so u know when someones about to shoot it at u. U should strafe and not follow people around corners so they can pop out and get u easily. Ive only died a handful of time by that gun so lets stop the op nonsense that everyones still ranting about. Either step ur game up or choose the boltshot ur able to just like anyone else.
In infinity slayer on Abandon, I had a scattershot and this other guy had a boltshot.
…he won. I think the boltshot could use some tweeking. And the plasma pistol should be removed from loadouts entirely. Plasma pistol noob combo is noob.
Spawning with an instakill weapon is BS. The boltshot should not be 1sk.
I’m not one to complain about this weapon or that but, yeah, the Boltshot basically being as powerful as a Scattershot or even a Shotgun when charged is a little ridiculous.
agreed. bs is bs. it shouldnt be a ohk but maybe something close. its gotta at least drop your shields when fully charged, otherwise the plasma pistol would be the better option.
It is way OP in dominion when you’re in bases and it’s all CQB from there

You really shouldn’t get to spawn with either the plasma pistol or boltshot. They should be in the middle of the map. That way, people would fight over the control of it, rather than always having it in their back pocket. I don’t see the need for change for the boltshot. You just need to be unable to spawn with it.
You can snipe players at medium range with the Bolshot. Plus, even if you have one bullet in the chamber, you can charge a shot and have it do the same damage (despite only one bullet let, multiple pellet’s come from the gun).
The instant reload glitch needs to be fixed. It’s not the in Campaign or Spartan Ops. It’s totally gamebreaking and VERY easy to do that a bad player can go ham with it.
Nerfs to Bolshot: Scaled damage based on how many bullets you have in the chamber
Range is nerfed to point blank range. As in more bullet spread so players don’t get to abuse bolshot sniping.
There, Bolshot fixed if we are going to remain spawning with PPS and Bolshots. I do find it hilarious that 343 stated we won’t be spawning with Shottys and give us the Bolshot for Launch. Derp much?
Seriously?! That thing is only effective at point blank range. If anything I think the Plasma Pistol should deal much more damage.
I use half my classes with boltshot, half with plasma pistol. PP for BTB, boltshot for infantry games.

I use the Boltshot all the time, and I can honestly say it’s overpowered. I’ve gotten kills with it from WAY farther than I should. The range should be reduced, and the charged shot should use the whole clip.
The Plasma Pistol, though, is just fine. It’s been seriously nerfed from other games, and I think it works just fine in loadouts. It doesn’t need to be changed at all.
The boltshot, barring any glitches or animation cancels is fine the way it is.
So long as it’s fixed so that it consistently discharges when switched while charged and/or after a few seconds, it’ll be fine.

Did you not read the above post? It’s anything but fine.
You can spout adapt or you don’t know how to counter it (it’s not that hard knowing not to rush players) but it’s another when they game revolves around abusing the damn thing. Seriously, it makes spawning with automatics pointless when you can just use the Bolshotgun instead.
People need to stop complaining.
It’s not like it’s some shotgun that you just point-shoot-bam-dead type thing. You actually have to time your shot. It’s the only gun where when I get killed by it, I don’t feel the kill was cheap. Unlike Camo Snipers, Camo Beam Rifle, Gauss Hog, etc. I actually appreciate the guy who got me. Kind of like respect to the guy who can use one.
And as for the guy who faced a Boltshot with the Scattershot: the Scattershot is just weak, it doesn’t deserve to be a power weapon. The projectile travel is slower than a snail in spring, and you’re basically dead from a DMR/BR battle if the other guy starts strafing. That’s right, the Scattershot is only useful if your enemy is going either directly toward you or from you.
FFS you finally have variety in your weapons choice, yet you complain weeks on end.
I’m` not gunna lie, I use it as well. I lure the enemy in… Then, BAM!!! Right in the kisser!!! I don’t use it as often as I would like though. When it’s the other way around, I noticed that it’s hard to hear it being charged up. If anything, they should buff the charge up noise so that you can tell when another person is charging it up. That way, he has an opurtinity to side step it.
In response the OP’s original topic, you’re wrong. Just yesterday there were 2 threads on the Boltshot being OP. It just so happens that those threads got buried, and the DMR threads popped up.

That’s genius! If the instant reload glitch was patched and the boltshot required a full clip, that would make it perfect! No need to weaken it but it would definitely prevent someone from spamming it.
