Boltshot, Closed Fist, Open hand, Sleeper REQs.

I’ll be the first to admit these weren’t weapons I considered at launch and even very recently, but damn-a-ding--Yoink!- have I been missing out.

After picking up a dropped Open Hand while using a level two Speed Boost; I felt like it was unfair for the other guys.

Of all the different weapon variations, the Boltshot transitions from each level smoothly, balanced, and quite honestly, fun. The normal variant isn’t anything to necessarily sell the farm for, but Closed Fist and/or Open Hand paired with the right power up + mod can be deadly.

Thoughts?

You’re right in saying they’re good combos. But I feel that people will continue to avoid them specifically because they’re a bit of a pain.

The last boltshot variant (forgot which one) is good because of the great homing ability, but the other two are just okay. To be fair, I think any power weapon would be better with the right power up equipped.

Having used the Boltshot and its boosted upgrades, I’ve started experimenting more with items I’ve really never tried out. I’d say the three different BS’es (no pun intended LoL) should definitely be considered probably one of the least know sleeper reqs, I’m averaging about 4 kills with just the base after using it for about a few hours now.

I’ll take that into consideration. I have some sitting in my inventory so maybe I’ll give it a (bolt)shot. (lolol)

I always want to use them, but honestly forget I have them.

my thoughts are that you spelled hand wrong in the title. Anyway I always knew that the open hand was really powerful its one of the weapons that I love pulling out in warzone. I dont really care for the others though.

Much love on that LoL, mind might of been somewhere else there. I love using it in Assault since you’re never really getting past level 5 most of the time. Speed Boost, Upgraded Thruster, and Open Fist; surprised no one has made a fuzzy over this set up.

I’ll be real, OP. I don’t use a req unless it’s good without comboing.

the Open hand’s 3SK is great, but you pretty much have to get the drop on your foes to get full use out of it thanks to the travel time of the weapon.

But yeah it’s still a good gun.

boltshot + speed boost works wonders

Boltshots are super fun, and make the killfeed a little more colorful. “How did he get a triple kill with a boltshot?”

Lots of early-game weapons are really powerful. My favorites and why for those who don’t know:

Open Hand is 3-shot to kill and has very aggressive tracking and range (I’ve had the bolts will travel up and over the front of a ghost to hit the driver)
Razor’s Edge is a bit inconsistent at times but usually kills incredibly fast with little ammo used.
Blissful Slumber is incredibly powerful at close range and even at distances. Basically the covenant version of The Answer.
Hailstorm fast firing and lots of ammo needler. Outperforms the top tier mostly because that is meant for vehicles not players.
Blaze of Glory is in many regards, more powerful than the mythic Oathsworn. Decimates close and medium range players.

Edit: HOW DID I FORGET MY BABY
Blood of Suban is very precise at most ranges and can take down spartans with 5 or 6 shots before they supercombine. Lots of ammo means lots of kills.

Great list. I’d add the Blood of Suban to it as well.

I know it doesn’t necessarily count as an “original” feature, but the basic SAW plus a damage boost is pretty much The Answer.
