Boltshot breaks the game

The boltshot needs to be removed from the loadout selection. It ruins the game as a starting weapon considering its a one hit kill and you spawn with it.

Oh look its one of THESE threads.

Its annoying. But if you check your corners or you listen to the audio que…heck if you do anything other rhen rush around a corner its easy to avoid.

You are suggesting that this 1 gun is breaking the whole game?

I’m not going to tease you.

Here are tips against boltshotters.

  1. Use PV to notice Boltshot campers.
  2. Toss a frag around the corner.
  3. You can also use a hologram for them to release their shot then rush them
  4. You can jump and stick them with stickies.
  5. Backpedal and shoot.

Yea it is, and they won’t stop coming until 343 has the sense to nerf the Boltshot.

Make it a full clip to shoot the charge, decrease the range, and fix the reload glitch. I don’t care that it’s a 1sk, given those parameters. Oh, and how about increasing it’s ability as an actual pistol? Damn thing sucks even for a sidearm.

Yeah only if these scenarios actually worked in the heat of the game.

If it was that easy I would do it im a above average Halo player and i find doing all that just because someone “might” be there is absurd. I refuse to use PV for the simple fact of how cheap it is. All your other options might work given they haven’t already shot you.

One shot kill pistol that you can spawn with? Sounds like a pretty fair idea to me.

  1. Doesn’t work if the camper has Stealth and Camo, which most do.
  2. Not everyone uses frags and unless you hit them with both they’ll be just fine.
  3. That will work for the first shot, but they most likely won’t fall for it twice.
  4. The goal is to defeat the camper, not take him with you.
  5. Boltshot charged shot has more range then both the Shotgun and Scattershot.

Boltshot is OP and needs nerfed so it’s like the Mauler. Simple as that.

  1. Throw grenades into the stealth/camo radar jammed area.
  2. Switch to frags and put on tactical package that increases their range.
  3. Once he wastes the first shot, you have time to get distance, throw grenades and kill them.
  4. Who cares? He is dead
  5. Don’t use a shotgun/scattershot. Rock Paper Scissors! Counter the opponent. Not outmatch with the same weapon.

Wowowowowowowowow.
You’re okay with a starting weapon being as good as an ordinance weapon?

I have to disagree with you there, chief. Seems to me that the boltshot should be waaaayyyyy worse than both the Scattershot and shotty.

Do you think the Lightrifle should be a two shot kill like the sniper rifles, too?

I don’t think I’ve ever been killed by one.

Haha, I give suggestions on how to counter the BoltShot, and you guys claim that they are all infeasible.

Then yeah, if you guys really think it is impossible to stop Boltshotters, go ask 343 to nerf it.

These strategies work for me, but I guess I can do the impossible.

Decrease range. Shouldn’t be able to beat sword or scattershot.

They are not impossible, they are just not always a viable option at the time. They work for you that’s great but I still bet your K/D against that weapon isn’t all that pleasing just cause of the nature of the gun.

Also getting into a situation like that with your tactics relies on it being a 1v1 and in Halo that doesn’t happen very often.

Being able to spawn with a one-shot kill weapon was a huge mistake, I agree in terms of that - definitely not a “game breaker” though.

Hooray for the newer, stronger mauler.

I love the boltshot, it kills all the baddies.

Hint: stop being bad.

> I don’t think I’ve ever been killed by one.

I have been killed by them before.

4 times.

Out of 466 deaths.

Obviously a devastating game changer that has had a huge impact on my enjoyment of Halo 4.

Or, I haven’t even noticed it really.
