If i ever see this weapon again other then as a power weapon pick up, i will never take Halo’s multiplayer serious again… Who thought giving players the ability to spawn with a pocket shotgun was a good idea?
I am just tired of being blasted by it every time i round a corner.

Whats next? giving Medics Rockets launchers in TF2 or giving the engineers in BF3 insta kill stingers…
I cannot simply force myself to use it… then 343 sees how many people use it and say to themselves… “derp they love it, lets put it in halo 5 and make it more cheap”

The thing that kills me the most is that they simply ignore the fact that we hate things like this and keep them in the game as they are… that nerf wasnt enough.
Honestly, it is a good weapon. It’s one of the most skilled one hit weapons. But you’re right, it doesn’t belong as a loadout weapon. I don’t use it, but I can understand why some people do, it’s nowhere near as bad as the Plasma Pistol and Plasma grenade starts however, they’ve destroyed big team. The weapon should stay, but not as a starting weapon.
It’s pretty easy to avoid though, the range is tiny, and the timing has to be perfect, so you can’t just sit around the corner with your finger on the trigger.

i agree with you about how it destroys big team… also in my opinion the bolt shot is not some super difficult weapon… i kill people with ease, it doesnt take some divine skill. it simply needs to be a pick up/ power weapon.
I come from the bias as a mid-long range player, so I don’t find it an issue. As I see it, do what you all feel is necessary whether you want to keep it or get rid of it. Whatever is the outcome of this boltshot issue, it’ll really have no affect on me whatsoever. As a mid-long range player, there’s no point in me even using it as it clashes with my style of play. Therefore, I’m not going to throw out my opinion for argumentation as I really have no place to argue this issue.

Except for the fact that you can counter the Boltshot. Just use Thruster Pack and get out of the way, or pop up a Hardlight Shield and make them shoot themselves in the face.

Or scan the area with Promethean Vision to detect the trap. Or draw them out with a Hologram. Or Jetpack around the corner to befuddle their aim.

I don’t see any problem about it. 9 out of 10 times, I always come out on top rather than the Bolt Shot player. Hell, I should have more melee deaths than Bolt Shot deaths.
And this just hit me: Bolt Shot. First letter of each word = B S. What else starts with B S? Bingo.

We already spawn with pocket rockets (plasmas) and pocket snipers (DMR’s). What’s so bad about another pocket super weapon with an even greater situational aspect? Maybe it’s not the way you like to fight people but that’s just a sign that you need to learn to be more flexible.
… Is perfectly balanced after the nerf. It requires the user to be quite close to work well and takes decent timing. It also has a loud obvious charging noise alerting enemies. If you die to a boltshot, you deserved it.

No, but gettin kills is fun, and by goly you CAN kill them dang nab boltshotters.
All the hate over the Bolshot? Seriously just use a thruster pack and then melee them. On the “Bright side” The Boltshot being a pocket shotgun gives you a fighting chance against people who spam the hell out of regular shotguns and scattershots
The Bolt Shot is much to powerful to have as a load out weapon, yes.
But it isn’t really powerful enough to be a power weapon pickup either,
think about it. Would you be happy getting it as a power weapon instead of a shotgun or a scatter shot? or any of the other power weapons for that matter?
I know I wouldn’t.
If anything, I think they just should not have introduced it to the game at all, or they should have just made it a shield dropper.
