Halo has some of the best weapon variety in gaming, so many weapons from H1-H5. But one thing still missing is a gun that fills role of super high power very slow reload bolt action. Imagine the kraber from Apex legends/Titanfall2 but Halo stylized, it’d be so satisfying to use. Any agreement on this one?

I’m not sure how you would make the damage output worth the reload penalty. Maybe more vehicle damage? I think in theory it sounds cool however in game it may not feel good.

I suppose the Railgun is as close as we have to that.
Potentially some of the more projectile-style banished weapons may also fill the role as high damage slow reload seems like their kind of thing.

Good callout with the Railgun. I forgot that exists since I’ve been playing more MCC. A spike sniper could be legit.

The H4 railgun is probably the worst offender for slow reload, mind, and without VISR sync is definitely more capable vs vehicles than Spartans
Having a new sniper rifle that fits that category would be pretty sick. More damage against vehicles, maybe longer range scope? Or thermal scope? Would be fun as hell.

Honestly even if they brought the nornfang into infinite and made it bolt action that would be an interesting thing to have on multiplayer maps.
I mean, we had the Binary Rifle, which 1 shot anywhere in the body in Halo 4, and it wasn’t even Bolt Action.
The Spartan Laser is another good example, aside from the Railgun others have mentioned, of a death-sniper with a long period of time between shots.
I think having a bolt-action Sniper would feel pretty redundant surrounded by all these options unless they did something unique with it. Maybe instead of doing massive vehicle damage, it would be a Brute weapon that fires a massive spike, requires you to lead your shot due to it being projectile based instead of hitscan, but also pins bodies to walls and is somewhat “easier” to land closer range hits with by having a little bit of unscoped aim assist.
That said I feel like I’m describing the Railgun again just without the charge up sequence.
The new skewer weapon they revealed seems like it might fill this role nicely
