The body type option is completely redundant
It changes next to nothing
Body type 1 lets you see behind the armour even which is just insanely lazy
Back in the flights I was under the impression the 3 body types in the game were meant to be 3 masculine ones with there being an extra 3 ones for a more feminine appearance in final but it doesn’t seem to be the case
I’m glad the current types are at least androgynous enough for it to not bother me but I can’t help but wish for more variety.
I agree with you, I would like to see more base line customization in general. On a positive note, remember that this is a beta build, so the potential for way more core content at launch is very much a thing.
I agree. Really feels like it’s missing a more feminine body type (Like Reach to 5). Nothing they can’t add though.
Yeah, I wish more people would speak up about this, the body type variety is… well there is no variety. it’s boring. It should be very low on 343’s priority list, but it should be there.
No female model this time around at all either. I feel bad for the female Spartans among us. Feels like an odd thing to cut.
It doesn’t really matter to me, but I know what they could do.
When you go down to Body and Ai, there should be two things to click, male body and female body. There could be three body types for both gender.
If they wanted to keep it vague they could also easily just add 3 more options to the slider they have already as well
I personally don’t see the need for different body types, and to be honest, even female Spartans.
In the books all the Spartans pretty much look the same, the armor size doesn’t change for females. It’s the same exact armor that the males wear, just on a different body. It’s not specifically made to point out a female’s behind like in all the other halo games.
Honestly 2 looks feminine to me. Though 1 and 3 are definitely dudes.

Ideally I’d love something more like Halo 5 in terms of build but with the gear and quality textures this game has but I don’t think it needs to go as far as that to be better
forgot to add but i think the intent with the 3 options was that type 0 is male, 1 female and 2 seems to be inbetween both so likely meant to be the androgynous one.
Totally agreed the only way to know is by the voice haha, hopefully they add more body times on the future

I’m trans MTF and it feels so much more comfortable to play games when I can present more feminine so I hope they change things at some point
This is why I find the defense that its for ‘inclusion’ so weird. I didn’t realize inclusion meant making everyone look like dudes (though I still don’t find 2 bad).
Their idea of inclusion is actual exclusion, wouldnt have been hard to make a male female and trans body type instead of male male and kinda female
I agree with this. I don’t care what they call them. I’d just like a little more diversity.

Agreed, how hard was it to just add a third body type but leave the previous two okay (Prior to the MCC patch that replaced all the genders for the previous games). Aside from Body Type 1, there is very little difference in the types for females, and that’s being positive and kind!
Not to mention none of the armors conform to the Spartan underneath, which the body types actually change. I would prefer more diversity and more conformity. Or at least give more feminine body types (Like Kat from Reach, or Vale/Palmer from H4/H5).
I DO like how the glove suit/undersuit for the Spartans is thicker and actually gives a sort of space protective feel like those of an Astronaut’s suit. However, that’s one of the few, if not only positive I could reliably give.

Yeah rn it feels like the armour is too big for the person wearing it which, as far as im aware isn’t even accurate as i think the armour is tailor made for each spartan in lore.
I really just want to have a Halo 4/5 type build with the amazing textures and reach style armour parts Infinite has
I’ve opened an issue on Halo Support to hopefully push this further to the devs. Hope it works
