I’ve been thinking the new slider reminds me of the one in Star Wars Battlefront 2015 for the stormtroopers, where you can hardly tell the difference, but at least in that one it changes the voice. I don’t know if 343 is going to add a seperate voice option, if you’ll be given a random voice, or if it’ll be attached to the body type. Right now I do think option 3 is pointless as it’s way~ too close to option 1, and I don’t know if any of these are supposed to be female, bit they all just look like males. I feel like we’ve just gone back to Halo 3 where it just changed the voice. (Even though it doesn’t currently do that either.) Some may say it’s for inclusion, but by doing this you’re excluding feminine looking women, even my girlfriend hates this and she’s usually up there fighting for inclusion etc. Personally, I’d rather go back to Reach, 4 or 5 options and looks.
What would you change to improve it? Or what do you like/hate about the current options?
Its simple we just add the squat-obsessed female spartans of Reach/H5.
Other than that, we know voices will be a wider selection of options in the full game. (Its part of the Spartan ID suite that was unavailable in the flights.)

Ok. I like that voices are going to be an option. Hope it’s got a decent selection.
I wouldn’t complain with the big booty fem-spartan, but I’ll just take less broad shoulders and thicker thighs at this point. Maybe even a different stance or something.
I do think it’s going to be weird seeing a massive male looking Spartan with a fem voice or (if we got it) a Reach style Fem-Spartan with a really feminine voice.

Sure, whatever makes the ladies happy.
Voices were already a separate option in the flight. But you could only switch in the app. I’m guessing to make sure people actually used the app to give feedback on that too. There were quite many voices (but I turned off chatter anyway)
As for the body types. I prefer Infinite’s body type system over R-5 personally, and find it generally more realistic.
But a “slider” could be a cool idea if that’s doable.

Personally I don’t see how infinite’s is more realistic, especially when Reach came out Bungie got a cosplayer to be Kat and she was spot on to a T. Can’t get more realistic than real life XD They can still be buff, just bring down the broad shoulders and make the thighs bigger. Something big enough to tell them apart.
A slider could be cool but may make bodies look funky if not set up right. I’m think like a PSO2 body slider.

A cosplayer having the body-shape of a supersoldier trained for war since she be was 7 and injected with biochemical augmentations is kinda exactly what makes it unrealistic to me.
Having an option with less wide shoulders and slightly bigger legs could work, as long as they stay grounded, I’m not against that idea.
I think Laurette’s design is more believable (or unbelievable depending on how you see it) than any character’s in the past.
To be honest I have no clue what PSO2 even is lol, but I think I agree with what you’re saying about limiting the slider so it doesn’t look out of place.
I talked about this too on one of my posts, and I think the body type system is fine but all they need to do is make the gender difference(male and female) and have different body types for that specific gender you choose and like you said make it a good enough difference so you can tell them apart. Players would be able to change the way they look and look different from other Spartans because not every female or male spartan would look the same as well.
Voices were available to be changed in the beta version of waypoint during the flight. There were at least 10 to choose from if i remember correctly.

The thing people aren’t getting is the body slider is more inclusive than genders, not less. This combined with the ability to select from a range of voices mean more people can choose a combination that works for them. There is no gender in this game.

I’d agree if any of the bodies even looked half femine. It’s 3 ever so slightly different blokes. Put Reach’s make and female next to each other and I can tell. Put all 3 of these and I doubt I could tell a difference.

Having Halo Reach’s female models would do nothing beneficial for the game, it would only let pervs/weirdos do what they do and have already done for a decade with Reach. This game is about shooting people and having fun, etc etc etc… not about overly sexualized female models lol.
Things are great the way they have it now, with the current body type system. They will also have more female voices and options on launch, as they specified a little while back. Having overly sexualized models like Reach though, nah. Having “curvy” super soldiers wearing 1000lb armor doesn’t make much sense at all, in the lore or in the video game world. Not in a game that wants to be taken seriously at least.
