This probably was done already when the first gameplay videos of Titanfall came out and showed a player boarding and shooting a Titan to death. If it hasn’t, well then shame on you guys.
I got the lucky opportunity to play the Titanfall Beta (It was awesome BTW, thanks for asking.) and boarding Titans just felt better than boarding in Halo. Maybe it’s the first person view, maybe it’s that it’s actually you shooting the Titan to death instead of a canned animation doing it for you, I can’t really put my finger on it but it just felt better.
To the point: Should boarding be less of an instant “I Win!” button and be more interactive ala Titanfall?
You board a vehicle and instead of the animation playing out where you rip the driver out, you hang on and have to fight him (melee to dislodge, shoot to kill/destroy, or grenade and bail) and he can fight back similarly?

No. But with good reason.
Halo has is already suffering from over prolonged encounters, we do not need to add to that problem. That said, I would prefer we could steal tanks without damaging them, have the punching action, but make it so you have to punch multiple times, like we have now, but it only kills the driver, but takes longer than planting a grenade.

I would also like to iterate the point that honestly in titanfall ( I loved the beta!) the boarding works because unlike in halo its alot harder to shoot the hi-jacker off and a prolonged jack would just be suicide. ( In halo that is)
If you notice even the titans move ALOT faster than 99% of halos vehicles (theres nothing wrong with that as it flows into titanfalls gameplay).
In conclusion I disagree with this 100% but you put thought into this and explained it fairly well so 10/10 for that ^-^
The boarding in Titanfall works because of how large the target being boarded is, and how small you are. However, you don’t need to hold a button of any sort. You just need to jump close to it’s back and it does it automatically, adding to the fast paced flair.
The boarding in Halo works because it’s a fun way to steal an enemy vehicle (kickin’ a dude out of a Ghost? So fun!), but it requires both timing with a button press and for the vehicle to be slow enough to board. I don’t think we need to shake that formula up too much.
I do approve of Darkrain’s tank stealing idea, though.
