Boarding Hunters

This needs to be a thing. Damage a hunter enough to the point where it is “board-able” which would have a visual cue where the hunters body has some sort of visual effect that notifies you that its damaged enough to board, then you need to get behind it and press “insert button” to initiate the 3rd person animation of climbing on top of it and proceed to plant a grenade (or shoot whatever weapon you were wielding down upon it if you’re out of grenades) to finish it off (or possibly weaken it if they are actually THAT strong). This could also be applied to other bigger-class enemies like Promethean Knights and Brute Chieftains/Flood Juggernauts (if those last 2 enemy types ever appear again, and I really hope they do).

I think it would be a sweet addition to Halo’s awesome 3rd person mechanics/animations.

yep I’m in

Before they die they should be slightly loosing their balance, like how in LOTR Fellowship of the ring, the cave troll starts swaying arround. this would look cool with a hunter. then be able to jump onto its back and finish it off.

And my axe!

I don’t know, we know that this idea has been around since Halo 2. I’m willing to bet that they have tried with each game to see if it works. If we haven’t got it by now, chances are something about it doesn’t end up working. Maybe scaling it makes you an easy target, (I’d believe that in any difficulty above normal) maybe it’s a needless step in the process of just filling it with bullets. More on that last part; Hunters can often be dealt with easily, this boarding would need to be quicker than sticking a plasma to its back. If it became quicker, than that would mean the hunters in general have had a massive health buff, and with that, that would make every hunter engagement a slog to get to the piggyback stage.

I mean there’s some in-between to these scenarios but I’ll refer back to it being a needless step in what should be straightforward. Now, a new rarer enemy could make much better use of this.

that’s my 2 cents anyway.

Honestly, I think we need to make hunters harder if anything. In most the halo’s they’re already too easy to kill considering their supposed power.
