Blurring the lines between SP and MP

That was a big deal for 343, making all the modes interconnected. Having Spartan Ops be a continuation of the Campaign, and having MP act as a training simulator to prepare your Spartan for the SpOps experience.

Blending SP and MP seamlessly seems to be a big deal at the moment, with games such as The Crew, The Division, and Destiny. Games such as Titanfall and Watch_Dogs are also blending the two, though not to the scale of the other three.

I hope 343 plans to take the integration further with the next game. I like that every mode serves some purpose in Halo 4, and I would like to see the concept elevated to greater possibilities.

Yes absolutely. Love MP being canon. No elites, meaning no Invasion and certain people not being able to pick elites, and pretty much giving 343 the ability to remove features and say “oh it’s all just canon.”

343 can easily keep everything interconnected and serving a purpose, whilst also not limiting themselves.

Imagine a hub interface with all these interconnecting stories that lead to different SP and MP experiences. Each mode would be represented by an icon or something placed on some kind of star map; and depict an event happening within the universe. Campaign would follow the main event of 'Chief and co. Competitive MP could remain a training exercise on the Infinity. Firefight could focus on battles which depict Spartan IVs/ODSTs defending an area from hostile forces on various worlds; and so on and so forth.

All of these modes will represent big and small stories within the universe, and make the experience meaningful.

Perhaps the War Games could have variants of all the modes that allow for players to go crazy with customisation. The fact it is a simulator means they can do whatever they want. The UNSC can go crazy.

They could provide a very specific mode that allows players to chose an allegiance between Humans and Sangheili; like Invasion, but you’re always your preferred race, rather than alternating between the two. They could provide several game types within this section that allows you to carry your persistent character over.

Here, I can make the Elites returning canon

Thel 'Vadam’s Covenant have decided to assist training the SPARTAN-IVs on Infinity, they help train by teaching the SPARTAN-IVs how to attack Covenant defenses (invasion), Simple Combat Exercises (slayer), etc.

Firefight could also be a hologram of what to and what not to do in the event of a huge hoard attack. The custom games can be made to be just some fun yet beneficial combat games that the spartans do instead of playing football, rugby or basketball

The true users of the Energy Sword are the best masters. Who could understand Covenant weaponry more than it’s users and manufactures? (even if they just dumbed down versions of Forerunner weaponry)

I don’t know, Spartan Ops will ever return but I have a good idea if it’s make appearance again.
Make Spartan Ops mission a bit more special, I mean, you must complete the previous chapter before playing the next like in the Campaign and give some function to the SR ranks.

For example:
You can’t start the mission while your Spartan Rank is lower then 15.
“Minimum exercise is required Spartan, we aren’t send you there to be cannon fodder.”- Commander Palmer

This would pressures the players to improve in Matchmaking or by completing challenges to be a bit more experienced before going straight ahead into “real” action. This only make sense if checkpoint system will being introduced in Spartan Ops.
